To be honest: I thought that was a bit optimistic of me. s

Your boss sounds like a nightmare of incompetence that we have to deal with every now and then. So maybe she is a sobriety tool....a reminder to use the Serenity Prayer in our lives.

LOL....I was thinking nah, this lady is a nightmare, glad you yelled at her......but that would not have been very mature of me.

❤️

Great to hear from so many today! We are doing this sobriety thing; the good, the bad, and the challenging. Basically, we're doing life on life terms and not trying to escape it or numb ourselves to it. You guys are the best.

Karen, I'm sorry your boss didn't react favorably, but you sound so good about the whole ordeal. That's what matters. Keep going strong and hold your head up knowing you are doing a good job.

I felt so good and peaceful today. Just really thankful for life lately. My faith helps tremendously, and running/eating right is the second important piece. I am up to running 5 miles! Can't believe it. I could barely run 3 a month ago because I felt so awful. Tucked in bed with my radio programs and a treat.

4 weeks tomorrow and not missing wine at all.

Happy Four Weeks Quit! I'm only checking in quickly, have to be on the road early.
Sweet, dear Venus, I didn't yell at my boss. She yelled at me. Thanks so much for caring about all that, you are always so kind.
Have a happy day everyone!

Good morning, all. Just checking in on this sober morning. I had a dream that I drank at the movie theaters during a bizarre 4-hour new Indiana Jones flick, and during my dream, I was thinking, "I'm going to have to post to SR and tell everyone what happened." I guess posting here with you all helps keep me accountable -- you're all in my subconscious!

I'm happy to be sober this morning and ready to start day 16.

Karen, well done. You did your part. It sounds like your boss has issues of her own she would benefit from addressing. It's great that you have supportive coworkers. That makes a big difference

Good morning...
This is the last day with my son before he leaves to Japan. So grateful for the wonderful time spent with him sober. We are off to Orlando this morning, so I will catch up with you all later.
Congrats to everyone on the milestones and successes!

Good morning, Class!

Quit- glad you got to visit with your son. Wow! Japan is kind of far away! Hope you have a nice trip to Orlando.

Rattle - Congrats on 16 days!

Venus - How did you midterm go?

Karen - I love your attitude. You are right to let it go; sounds like a crazy-making situation.

Quick check-in for me. Continuing to feel better. Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi everyone! I had a great day in Atlanta. Good meeting with all my coworkers. Got to look over the Fernbank Museum of Natural History. It was awesome.
I'm really tired, and going to chill out and do very little tonight.
Tomorrow is seven weeks! I am feeling much better. Still going to the doctor though!
See you all later!

Nightly check in; I took my children roller skating tonight. We had a lot of fun! Husband will be home late tonight, so I got through his travels remarkably well. No temptation to drink this time. It's wonderful to be establishing new patterns and getting more secure in a sober lifestyle again.

Love to all

Great job, Quitnow! Taking the kids roller skating does sound like a lot of fun. It’s nice to be able to do little things like that without obsessing over drinking.

Good morning everyone! Wonderful news, Quit. It's so great to see you getting better and better.
Runner, I hope you aren't feeling empty nest with your children away. I'm glad you got time with them.
Congrats on day 17 Mike!
I couldn't get to sleep last night, worrying over things. Then, couldn't get myself awake this morning. It's better than a hangover by far, but I do need to learn to let things go!
I hope everyone has a great day.

I have a lot to learn and I am probably not allowed to use Australian spelling which I have a big issue with. We shall see.

And.....

Hello Sober September Peeps!

Venus - I am sure you did better than you think. I hope you did well!

Rattle - Congrats on 17 days!

Karen - I hope things settle down at work.

Quit - Congrats on staying sober during your husband's absence. Glad you are keeping physically active.

Not much time to update this AM, but want to say hi.

I am feeling so much better after getting back on depression meds and iron supplements. I fainted last weekend after getting up too fast, so now I am taking iron 2-3 times a day after getting my blood test results.

Me too, Pouncer! I am so glad the meds and vitamins make a difference! I'm almost hoping when I go to the Dr. that I find something like that, that can be helped with meds or vitamins.
Mike, your dream made me laugh. I hope it wasn't a nightmare.
I took a large group of people with dementia to the lake for a cookout today. I was so beat when I got back that I left at 3 p.m.! Just what I need when I'm already in trouble at work. But, I was just too exhausted to go on.
Going to lay down for a bit then do some housework. Little by little this is beginning to look like a sober person lives here!
