One Year & Over Part 68
Thanks for the camel FBL, I love me some hump day!
Off to Spain today, I won't get a dive in this trip as we are only there for little over a week and have two games of golf planned and I'm needing a little more rest at the moment as I'm recuperating the shingles virus. Thankfully it seems to be on the way out and the rash is receding. It still itches and stings under the surface, though strangely the surface of my skin, presumably where the nerves have been damaged, is numb.
Good to hear Sassykitty is on the mend!
Mags, Andy, I will not be sad to escape this, so far, lousy U.K. summer for a little while!

Enjoy your time in Spain Toots! Gotta be better weather than we’re having!
Pleased you’re on the mend, just take care, they can flare up again when you think they’ve gone and the skin can be sensitive or numb for quite a while.

I am so happy for you....I think you mentioned that you didn't want to be all about your date this time, and I lost track a little bit.... So what a fantastic piece of news to read this morning. I am all smiles.
And welcome to the Overs dear Atlast.
And welcome to the Overs dear Atlast.
You push yourself pretty hard dear Guener.....I really think it's OK that you couldn't make dinner last night....maybe you can reschedule? s
So glad you are healing dear toots ~ have a wonderful time.
Fingers crossed for Mr Mags, and tons of love.
And hope you have long wellies dear Andy.
And what was it like?
......just love the joyousness of a grown man going out to investigate a really big puddle.....

At last,
Congrats and welcome! Make yourself at home and remember most of us are hours apart time zone wise. Some are in tomorrow today:
Toots,
I'm so glad to hear your shingles are going away. Enjoy Spain.
Star,
Thanks.
I hope all you folks in the rain get a photon bombardment soon! We have not only sun and cooler temps, but it is dry for here. If it stayed like this year round we'd have had a better time of it while living here.
You noobs have stumbled into sobriety by hook and by crook with lots of effort. As you go on it gets both easier and harder. The harder part is remembering where we were as people when we opted to use alcohol to opt out of having to be a grown up when we felt so inadequate for the job. I learned to get rid of the childish, but held on desperately to my child-like sense of wonder and it serves me well in sobriety because everything I took for granted were wonders I neglected to really see and experience. Things are wonderful. Even the things I'd rather have gone differently. Had I never hit my bottom, I'd have been a mediocre person because I met the world , and every thing and every one as mediocre. John Cleese explains it best in his explanation of stupidity. See, we lacked the sober skills to know how bad we were at being honest with ourselves about our drinking. Just a bit of humor here. See, I lacked exactly the skills needed to be good at sober life.

Morning Overs
Hope everyone is well, and keeping dry if in the U.K. !
Mr.Mags was told he has a bleed on the pituitary gland , which is at the base of the brain. It sounded pretty scary when he told me, especially when hospital rang up when we arrived home, for him to go for more tests this coming Tuesday. Mr.Mags seems unperturbed by it and deals with everything in the stoic way he does.
On my part, I was pretty worried but woke up this morning a lot better. I had a whine about it last night in Whiners and felt better for it.
Itchy, I loved the John Cleese clip, I used to love Fawlty Towers, hard to believe there was only 12 episodes made.
Have a great Friday my friends.
