Baseball practice at 7 pm is proving to be difficult for my oldest. He can't possibly unwind by bedtime which is usually 8:15 and in the case of last night, light's didn't go off until 9. Then he was crying because he couldn't fall asleep and I was upset because I couldn't do my meditation. He ended up falling asleep in my bed around 10.
I still got up and did my meditation this morning but it was hard getting into the space of gratitude I was hoping for. Either way, I am proud of myself. It's the first time in my life I've actually followed through with meditating every day. I think it's day 12 or 13 or something like that.
Ok, off to shower and get ready for work.

Was @ commitment last nite & guess forgot to write that coz I didn’t share! There were two girls & six guys(only two of us had more than a yr sobriety) which is a good thing coz the people in there will identify more with em than me or one of the girls. Was @ my first chiropractor visit few hrs ago & my prayer is that it helps two visits/wk. The price of getting older; SL would beg to differ but trust me, it is

Hi everyone I haven’t been posting as much lately as life has been so busy lately, but I’m still sober and now on the countdown to 1 year... I can hardly believe it’s been almost a year. The AV still tries to lure me back in, but I’m just taking one day at a time. Another 24 please. Love and support to you all, especially those who are struggling today ❤️

My AV is still active, sometimes....but I think it is that way for all addicts.....whether it is alcohol or chocolate.....cravings are going to happen.....the voice that says "yeah, go for it" is there.....occasionally....better to acknowledge it I think than to pretend I don't hear it....
Perhaps it will get easier and better....according to Dee and others with more sober years than me it does....the voice fades, leaves completely. But it is going to take more time for me, and that's OK. I used to hear in AA all of the time that under 5 years we are babies. pfffff, annoying, but in some ways, maybe?
