Today is going to be a bit hotter than yesterday. I found another lake in a neighboring state that has a beach for swimming and boating. Packed a lunch last night and heading there this morning with my wife and youngest son.

There's always something new to try if we just look a little. Yesterday I found a state park beach on a small lake. Quiet beach and plenty of picnic tables. My son and I had a great day swimming and staying cool. Best part, it was free.

Yeah, it's hot but there are places to go and things to do. Even in the winter! I gotta put more effort into that.

Have a joyous day.

I'm tired. The spot today was great. Much bigger lake. Very comfortable. Swam a lot. My muscles are tired from two days of it but it feels good. My son is so excited about the weekend and can't wait to go back to these spots.

Dinner at the in laws tonight was peaceful and quiet. My sister in law and her family were away. They are the big drinkers and loud. Home in bed with a full belly and healthy liver. A busy and full sober weekend.

We survived the heat wave! Strange, I remember worse and longer heat waves as a kid. Think people just like to make a story about anything.

Anyway, I made it through the weekend sober and happy.

Just checking in....had a busy Sunday with friends over to swim, lots of kids and activity going on. My rather shy cat was pretty freaked out. The cat isn't used to kids, loudness, and activity in the house

So to thank me, he cried for 3 hours straight. From 3am to 6am. Crying. I tried soft music, different food, aromatherapy, taking him outside, shutting my door, non stop crying. Almost took him to emergency vet.

Then at 6am he ate, went to the bathroom, and went to bed. Gee thanks. Thank god I don't have to work today, I'm running on about 4 hours of sleep and a frazzled nervous system.

Today I will repeat...I can do anything sober

Damn cat.....

Well at least it sounds like you WOULD have been sleeping. So I'm guessing your insomnia is better?

I'm sleeping a little better, at least I was for a night or two. If it happens tonight, I'm putting in the ear plugs and he can cry, cry, cry.

Boo Hoo

The cat slept good last night, while I was awake at 2.

Long day for me, not going to worry about a thing

Have a great day!

You should have started crying at your cat.

Yay...had a good night sleep last night! I'm working a few hours today to help out while a coworker is on vacation. The monsoon season has arrived, so I will spend the rest of the day watching the rain.

So peaceful

How long does the rainy season last? Must be a great break from the steady heat.

I too really love a good rain. Something about falling asleep to a cool evening rain shower.

3 weeks tomorrow. Feeling very good about my chances. I've added to the toolbox and recognize certain triggers. I also know the next binge could be my last. Prefer to think the last one was.

Prefer to think the last one was.

Tell yourself, the last binge WAS the last one!

Remember when your signature read something like;

I'm not drinking today because I don't drink.

Maybe time to create a new one, and repeat it often!

You can do it Final

I dropped that line when I started drinking. Feel a bit like a fraud to use something like that now. I was so confident then that I wouldn't drink and I did anyway. That definitely hurt my confidence level.

Our past doesn't define us if we don't want it to FR.

I relapsed weekly for 15 years,
Then I didn't.

Just a few tweaks here and there to my plan got me started - and then I changed from being that guy into who I am now - the non drinker.

Drinking is not on the cards anymore - ever, no matter what - and I don't feel the slightest bit of nervousness or doubt in saying that

Started a long post this morning and tablet died. Lost everything I had written.

Will try again later. Camping with my son was great. Remembered how much I enjoy sitting by a campfire on a river. Only place I'm comfortable just sitting and doing nothing for awhile.

I'll fill in more later.
