One Year & Over Part 67
Morning Overs
I’m finding that being retired (sorry if I go on about it!) needs it’s share of motivation. Unless it’s an appointment or a place to be, life can just pass me by. Yeah, I read books, I visit SR, I’ve caught up on some tv films. I feel like I should be doing something, you know, something I can get my teeth into, as they say!
I’m happy though as I am, all my life I’ve been chasing rainbows and to be settled and happy is good, isn’t it?
Still not got round to knitting my snood, maybe one day.
Have a good Thursday my friends

PJ posted this on another thread Guys.
Hospital biscuits are crap
Free utube docos!
Feeling a t

weird,
I shall say this only once
Surgery done
Much diff than surgery b4 Xms- that was a circus- preop assessments, 3-different dates in Unit, half a day tests preop- ECG etc, then later- surgery.
Including commute time- around 40 hours over4 weeks
The notification, admission, tests and surgery this time all done in 28 hours flat.
The anxiety (flashbacks etc) much worse than being here
I was given the 'airline hostess ' type talk on side effects, but this time mentioned strokes, death...and maybe needing to gouge out most of my little finger meat and putting a wire in. And maybe needing to do a deep skin harvest in the groin area- but alas, nay gentle readers- small graft near birthday dent, in until at least Monday
glad over

Welcome and congrats, Action!
(((PJ))), glad it’s over
Mags, yes, I think know exactly how you feel. It does improve - I don’t want to work anymore :-)
Andy, lovely to be able to watch the nest so nearby.
Hi Suze
Have a good day to all.

Or maybe you could start a walking club for retirees....or a walking/rolling club.....feet and wheels....it could be awesome fun....bet you even get on the news.
Hello dear Andy and all of the Overs.
Suze, thanks for the ideas! I think there are some Jamie Oliver restaurants about so I don’t doubt he has given some sort of classes. I quite like watching bake off, but nowhere in the league for their baking skills! More like sandcastles and sand pies.
I do prefer to keep away from the crowds, nowadays, I’m turning into a right grumpy old woman!

I am ;post op- not nearly as traumatic as I thought, they did not gouge skin near my rude parts and I woke up ;post op- no more NDE's

Morning Overs
Sun’s shining this Friday morning.
I rescued a nestling bird yesterday. I know everywhere says leave them, but cats round would’ve had it, I couldn’t see a nest so I’m looking after it. She only weighs 6 grams. But she’s a life..so gotta give her a chance. Not sure what sort of bird she is. Hopefully she’ll grow and we’ll find out.
Just had a cake made, just a simple one, for my in-laws 65th wedding anniversary next week. Sadly, my mil keeps forgetting it’s their 65th, with her dementia. It gets more difficult for fil. Sadly.
PJ is looking in good humour, just saw him in the weekender thread.
Have a good Friday Overs, it really is good Friday here next week, Easter eggs everywhere you look (not inour house yet though!) or any time, I’d rather have a bar of chocolate!

Morning Overs
PJ sending continued support and hugs. Try not to get tempted to scratch the itchy scars.
Saturday morning and I just heard the male pheasant outside. He’s got two females with him at the moment, who he looks after, stands on guard while they’re eating, and he just seems to protect them. The male usually has 4 females with him so I’m sure another two will show up!
When the female have their young though, the male is nowhere to be seen....Maybe he’s done his work and now leaves it to the females, or maybe finding food.
I got over the hurt of losing nestling....my protective nature had come to the fore, but you can’t change nature.
It’s Easter weekend next week, here in U.K. I’ve checked and it’s Easter on the same date many other countries too! That sounds a bit naive of me, not knowing, but what can I say...I’m easily confusedotcom!
We’re going to in-laws this morning. It’s their 65th wedding anniversary next Thursday. We’ve got a celebratory cake to take with us, I got mixed up with the dates so it’s early. I’m sure they won’t mind though.
Mil keeps forgetting it’s their 65th though, with her dementia and refers to her diary! She has always made notes of important and daily events, which is really good for her.
Have a good weekend my friends, love to all.
