What’s difference a day makes. Yesterday, I woke up at 4:00 AM. The first thought that went through my head was let’s get drunk. I didn’t and, now I’m extremely overjoyed I’m not nursing a hangover.

I’m in for another day of sobriety. Let’s all make it a sober holiday season by doing it one day at a time.

Good morning and signing in for another 24 for me today. Always nice to see everyone doing the same.

Ready to get back to work tomorrow and back to busy. The long holiday weekend of downtime still takes some planning to fill the void that I used to blur out.

Because I'm so used to sleeping with my giant labrador, in my sleep-fuddled brain I thought, 'wow! My dog has really shrunk. And he's purring. How weird' before falling back to sleep. Naturally it would have made more sense to realise it was a cat.....

I'm having a lovely lie-in in my friend's house. It's marvellous not having to get up to get the kids their breakfast and help them with their homework. I love my family more than life itself but I'm really enjoying this little break. I just heard my friends downstairs talking about their hangovers. And none of them were drunk.... well, none of them fulfilled my classification of 'drunk'. Maybe in the world of moderate drinkers they were drunk but it certainly didn't look like drunk to me. But whatever classification of 'drunk' we might be using, they are feeling hungover today whereas I am feeling marvellous. And I had just as much fun as all the drinkers last night .... I just don't need to take headache tablets today. Which is a useful reminder that we are missing out on nothing people!! Sobriety gives us everything that alcohol promised. And more.

So jealous, Delilah.... I really want to put up my Christmas decorations when I get home today. But my husband always says we have to wait until 1 December. He says it's the law. Not sure which law he's referring to but seeing as our Christmas decorations are boxed up in a shed which I'm too scared to enter because it's the kind of place spiders like to hang out.... looks like I'll have to wait until next weekend. Congrats to everyone celebrating a milestone today and love to everyone. 24 more for me please xxxx
My husband would always rather wait as well, but after many years he has learned it's easier to put them up early then to listen to me pasted him! The kids and I got everything in the house done Friday, so yesterday he put up the outdoor lights, and we went to get a tree last night.

My dec's are up, too.

They put me in a festive mood; the lights, colors and smells.

Wish my hubby were here to say something either way.

The days are much better, beautiful in sobriety. But...……. it is God who has gotten me through all the challenges along with AA.

I've been now and again almost being nostalgic about my drinking days, thinking of being in a pub or having a bottle of spirits listen to music.

I can still be in a pub or listen to music without alcohol. Luckily, I also remember the lying in bed ill, throwing up over everything and myself, not being able to function without alcohol.

No thanks, I'll just have a cup of tea.

24 more hours please.
