24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 419
24 for Red please. Feeling tired and a bit down the past couple of days. They go together, so what was needed a nice Sunday supper, a soak in the tub and am all tucked in bed at 7:30. I planted an oak tree (clay soil, ouch!), worked a lot with the rescue pup, a bit of scrubbing, investments and a few other things, but not much since Thanksgiving Day. I had down time and felt drained so maybe it was perfect. Sober all 4 days and will face the week clear-headed. Many others will have a detoxing kind of morning. Wow, I don’t miss that!
i get my annual review tomorrow. I joked with my boss—“so you’re firing me Monday afternoon? Why is it at 3 pm? Should I bring my own box?” He said “oh nooo..I would have it scheduled for Friday. You’re safe. “. Dang, I wanted an even longer weekend. Sometimes I secretly wish I were laid off. I’d watch cooking shows and Netflix—dropping almonds and popcorn and granola everywhere whilst wearing my Icelandic pajamas until 3 pm. Of course, you know the reality: I’d be a fretting, pacing, cheap coffee-swilling , black beans-and-rice-eating, chain-smoking mess writing 64 versions of my resume to perfectly fit every remotely feasible job opening . And agonizing a mere 5 minutes after hitting ‘SUBMIT’. . I do believe I’m better off and that things will be ok
Sober and sane, I love that about you. At least the sober part is true.

My husband would always rather wait as well, but after many years he has learned it's easier to put them up early then to listen to me pasted him! The kids and I got everything in the house done Friday, so yesterday he put up the outdoor lights, and we went to get a tree last night.
My husband is the one who got all inspired to decorate this year! Since we have the new kitty in the house, I wasn't too keen on decorating. We all knew we couldn't put out much (in the house) because Olive would think we bought LOTS of new TOYS just for her!!
Ken said he put up more lights than he ever has, but agreed we need just a few more strings for the "other" side of our porch. And lots poinsettias.
Your house looks SO good!! A++ job to your Hubby!!

22:46 EST and another 24 for me !!
Not a great holiday weekend - family fighting on Thursday, working on Friday, total anxiety breakdown on Saturday, then today my daughter has a grand mal seizure and mouse has moved in to taunt me....but I am gratefully sober!

Does your cat climb the tree? Ours used to bat ornaments out of it, and climb up the branches.
I'm so sorry you've had such a rough weekend. How is your daughter doing?
Personally I had been feeling angry and resentful about many petty things, but after witnessing her seizure I am just feeling grateful it all turned out well in the end.
