24 more please. Thanksgiving eves in the past were a great excuse to drink heavily. Haven't done that for many years now, instead spending tomorrow sober with family. Save the guilt for over-eating. Venus - my sober date is 11/4/18. I used to never put my date out there since then it would be too "real". Time to get real! |

Thanks for the new thread Dee and hello everyone! Today I am 750 days sober and life is brilliant. True... my boss is in a really bad mood, my house is in desperate need of a declutter and a very overdue spring clean (can you spring clean in November? Or should I wait until April?... don't want to break any rules...) plus, my son got a piece of lego stuck up his nose this morning (that is true... I don't make this stuff up), I've completely lost all central vision in my right eye and I'm currently being bullied by a gang of mean girls, sorry mean middle-aged women at my kids school. But despite all that, life is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. I watched a fantastic magician last night and he said something really interesting. He said the chances of each of us being born as each of us is about 1 in 400 trillion. To put this into context, I found this quote... Imagine there was one life preserver thrown somewhere in some ocean and there is exactly one turtle in all of these oceans, swimming underwater somewhere. The probability that you came about and exist today is the same as that turtle sticking its head out of the water — in the middle of that life preserver. On one try. Pretty awesome, eh? Just by being born we have beaten the trillions of odds stacked against us. Hard to feel bad about stuff when I realise that each and every one of us is an incredible miracle. I'm so grateful to be part of this miracle of life...… although I could do without any more lego up nostrils dramas.... Congratulations to everyone celebrating a milestone today and love to everyone. 24 more for me please xxx |
