One Year & Over Part 62
Toots I told my Momma... who helps me through my emotions alot to see whats really behind them...alot of the things i have issues with are of my own doing...all the 'ism's" I have the "ist's" would love to get ahold of me. I hope that comes across the way it did in my mind while I am typing this. I think you are right too in that she may need to be needed and be an over-doer. I am trying hard to not let it bother me and just let her do her thing. I need to learn to relax and let it go. In the big scheme of things it doesn't matter and it;s allowing me to rest and chill. Thank you and thanks Gil for your thoughts too!
Happy Tuesday everyone...just catching up on everyone's posts.

Gil, I think I will put some thought to that and do that gift basket...it makes sense. We've had so much diversity that I think it would help her see I am changing, I have changed, and I am certain I will keep on changing. I am definitely not the same person I was and for that I am grateful. I am also grateful for the changes to come. I may kick and scream a little but it's necessary and I am so open to better anything.

And you know what...it does get on my nerves to be around all the drinking. I just keep telling myself to take care of myself. I do. I'll socialize a bit, disappear and play my guitar a bit, go for a walk, play my word games on my ipad. I have to escape from that. I am also so grateful that even though I slipped in private and drank for a while, I didn't/don't act like that in public...I never knew how it looked until I have been on this side of it and how there is a Jekyll/Hyde in everyone...alcoholic or not.
These words of yours, Gilmer, have given me a flash of insight into a completely unrelated situation in the behaviour of a family-member and helped me think about that situation in a new way.
Good morning Overs.
Two weeks ago, because I have high BP and an enlarged heart, I was invited to join a European study into health care for heart and diabetes patients. So yesterday I went for the appointment during which I was given a glucose challenge which I failed so I can now add diabetes to my list of aliments. I have a BMI of 26 and eat plenty of fruit and veggies
Still, knowledge is power.
Have a good day everyone.

Key, I like what Gilmer and Toots said! As far as being around people who drink, Lately I find that it doesn’t bother me as much though I don’t enjoy being around people who overdo it. Perhaps because it’s a reminder of how I used to behave.
FBL, I would like to hear that podcast, too!
Mags, those little “presents” are what cause me to enjoy indoor cats much more
Andy, thinking of you! Multiple health problems can be challenging.
Happy Hump Day, Overs!

FBL,
I'll be looking for that link too.
Toots and Gil, I've been enjoying your sage advice, ladies as usual.
Atomic Blue, yes RW means Real world!
Andy,
Remember life doesn't get better we do. You do seem to be getting more than your share of challenges. Like everything else, today diabetes is managed better than ever before in history. For you sobriety now has an extra benefit.
Sassy is your furbaby doing OK?
Mags,
Maybe cats bring those gifts hoping you'll clean and cook them up for them? That's what human hunters do. I stopped climbing trees to wait in the cold to hunt:
I have my spare system up and running. Now to go back to trying to recover my main system. I used to do system images weekly but now will lose much of a year's worth of pics. I'll have to rip my CDs again. But now I'll sync the backup system automatically daily. If any of you have any software suggestions for doing that on a home WiFi network let me know.

Gilmer, just so happens I’ve got a chocolate bottle I forgot about! I guess I’m just going to have to eat it, someone has to!, then we can start on next years choccies.
Sassy, that’s a good point, indoor cats don’t bring those sort of gifts!
Andy, Blummin eck!

Mags,
Obviously not me because of the beer. But I live far enough out of the city limits, with deep woods along the back that I could hunt from a rear deck. But we now just shoot them with a camera.
If you could train your Cats to hunt squab, that would be worth eating for you! Here's how an experienced cat does it:
Hey, squab is pigeon, or as we call them, flying rats:
