It sounds like you have some cry-able emotions that you keep nicely stowed with all your activities.

Let them out and you may find a deeper joy through them.

And then, to be able to shut down tears by shutting off the tunes! What a gift.

I hope you're enjoying your day, Gilmer.

It's hot, hazy and humid in Eastern Canada, but I'm heading out for a walk. I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you and sending good thoughts your way.

Hi Kathy, talking about music. Parts of songs that feel like they touch my heart. It’s not the words but the actual tone or sound. Really stirs emotions, which stop when the music stops. Amazing how this can happen.

Enjoy your your meal, xx

As for the emotions, mine are all over the place...I get teary at music for what seems to be silly reasons...but at the end of the day- it just is. Enjoy your music- evoke feelings, make connections with your soul.
Phoenix, your words brought to mind exactly this piece of music: "Soul Coaxing" by Raymond LeFevre, I trust Gilmer and her friends will enjoy it:

Caramel, I have heard that song a million times before, but I've never known what it was!

It certainly would be perfect driving-through-the-hills music!

With the windows open--or in a convertible!

Kathy - you have made me a much braver person. I can never thank you enough.

I never heard 'Soul Coaxing' or saw 'Babette's Feast'. Will definitely have to check it out - sounds lovely.

Exactly!
It always makes me think of that feeling of the first day of a holiday, driving off early on a breezy sunshiny morning, heading for my favourite place in the world.

A mitzvah is a blessing! I never knew it was also a commandment. That's very very cool, isn't it? Combining the meanings conveys that G_d commands us to receive and appreciate blessings.

Like crab cakes.

Unless that's a theme song for a chick flick I "unknowingly" watched.lol
I have never heard it.
Nice, but I'm more of a Cat Stevens guy for easy listening.
Morning has broken always raises my spirits.

Morning has Broken is a beautiful song, Resolute. If I close my eyes and hear his music, I could just be a little kid again.

I've never heard the Soul Coaxing music before, but it does remind me of - and seems to capture, the essence of some of the music around that time too. It's a very cool piece of music! (thanks Caramel, for sharing!)

Now, Kathy....this crying business. How many times have you heard me say on our other thread that crying is OK??? Our bodies do it for a reason, there's no point holding it back. I know since I've been sober it sometimes shocks me when I do a real gut-wrenching cry...like where did that come from? But it comes from somewhere, and its GOOD to get it out.

I think I've even played music knowing full well it was going to make me cry. Do you have some little earphones you can play some music in your own little world? Love and hugs today.xx

Kathy, my Jewish friend has described a mitzvah as a blessing. It’s good to know there are multiple meanings :-)

A great time has been had by all!

My SIL and I ate our dinner in front of the TV, then watched the movie.

Knowing what was in store, I was moved throughout. That’s really a good flick.

We had a really deep discussion over a cigar on the deck. Then my husband and son came out, and the talk turned to power tools!

I’m confused about your bed is it not going to be in your house? I don’t see why you need to be separated from your family.

As a nurse who has worked in the hospital all of her life I say go for it and play with the bed because you sure do wanna know how to use it .

Sometimes at work we wheel/push each other around in the wheelchair because it is actually fun before you NEED to be in one....it’s kind of sort of fun in a sick sort of way

so maybe the chaplain was calling you a little bit weird —but that’s OK !

I don’t think it’s weird ...I think I agree with other people here, go ahead and dive right in !

Love you,
