24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 394
Half 5am here and warm, (up since 3am but happy pottering about :-)) Learned I got my dream job yesterday - I start on Monday, my 6 months sobriety date exactly. Couldn't have done it 6 months ago and I couldn't have done it without you guys. 24 for me please and love to all. x x x
Sobriety gives us everything we work for.
Call someone
Post here - lots
Get rigorously honest what triggered it
Walk out for miles
Vigorous exercise -body combat
Run up and down the stairs
Scream at the sky
Punch a cushion
Get to a meeting
Help another person
Run
Have a perfect coffee in fave coffee shop
Call a helpline
Tidy a part of the wreckage of your past
Just weep put the emotions you want to leave behind
Focus outward with meditation or prayer for parts of the world suffering
Do ashtanga yoga under the sun or a tree
Hug a tree
Do some Japanese chanting
Write to the person you hate most don’t send!
Forgive the person you hate most in the world
Go sit in a splendid garden
Do some gardening
Feed the little birds
Pat a dog
Laugh and laugh and laugh some more
Draw what you can see out the window
Clean those windows
Go sit in a cathedral or a spiritual place
Talk to other alcoholics honestly and indentify and get loved unconditionally
Phew that’s just for starters!!!!
Love you Water 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

Hi all. Not posted much recently but I do read them all, well almost all! Just wanted to bring you up to date on how fabulous sobriety is. As you know I have been doing a lot of voluntary work and today has been no exception. This morning I helped run a coffee morning for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, this afternoon I have been tour guiding at the Georgian Theatre. Its so great to be busy and not alone with my thoughts.
I love the theatre, been training for a while but only been doing them on my own for a couple of weeks. Today I had three (they are every hour on the hour), at the end of the second one a woman said how good it had been, she had done it before and the guide wasn't as good. I was so proud, yes PROUD!! Less than 6 months ago I wouldn't have believed I could feel that emotion. I rarely left the house, knew no one in the town. just drank and slept, didn't even bother much with food and bathing. What a transformation! Now I know everyone in town! Between the Charity shop (where I also volunteer), the church I attend every Sunday, the Theatre, and going to AA twice a week I hardly go into town without seeing someone I know, I cannot believe the change in my life.
To those suffering and struggling please HANG IN THERE, it will get so much better. I am 6 months sober on Wednesday, its a short time really to see so many changes. I left my abusive drunk husband as well, that was the start of the good stuff.
Take care everyone. Keep posting. I love reading them. Love to all. xxxx
