hi guys !
Yes, Toots those step daughters (at least mine) can be a challenge. I too, am ok if I don't step on her toes. Or even think about it.
Going to the gym for us older people and smile at the ones that are struggling at trying to exercise like me. ha ha ha

We’re supposed to get snow tomorrow and Wednesday, but the absolute most is 6” (all probably not even that).

Toots, thanks for asking. My daughter still feels sad and empty, but she has had really wonderful friends to care for her, plus us. I think the most painful part is past.

On the day it happened, my tenant happened to stop by her house unannounced to return some party supplies. She was the one who was there to embrace my daughter at the deepest part of her grief.

My tenant had just spent the entire month of December in her home state, caring for her younger brother with liver cancer (he died on Christmas night).

My daughter knew this.

My tenant said that she and her sister asked him whom he was most looking forward to seeing in heaven, besides Jesus.

They expected him to name some great saint; but instead he said he’d like to meet his friend’s baby, who had been stillborn.

When my daughter heard that, she sobbed and sobbed, because she was deeply comforted at the thought that someone might be waiting ahead to receive and welcome her baby into a better place.

That was the thing that brought her joy in the midst of her great sadness.

Gilmer, that brought tears. My brother in law in my first marriage died of liver cancer, an awful way to go, I empathise with your lodger. I am so glad her words brought comfort to your daughter at such a raw time in her suffering. It is true that you move forward, but you never forget.

Off to decorate step daughters flat today. Well, you can’t get enough decorating can you! (Can you say ‘sick of the sight of a paint brush’? ) and I fully expect to do something wrong.

MILs funeral tomorrow. I expect I will still have paint in my hair. She would have laughed.

Sassy, looking forward to that sea view x

Toots, you make me laugh, lass.x

I’m off to hospital today, an appt to get my results from the ct scan I had from ENT. my mind is racing and I’m trying to stay calm. I’m like the proverbial Swan, calm and serene on top and pedalling like **** underneath.

Have a good day my friends

So far nothing, though.

Gilmer, what a lovely image for your daughter

It’s not missing us! This time we’re getting hands-on experience with the weather!

We had a long-scheduled trip to south central PA from yesterday till Wednesday to get our van worked on.

Today up here we’re supposed to get 5-8” of snow; on our way home tomorrow we’re supposed to get 5-8” on the VA leg of the trip!

Stay safe with the weather Gilmer and Sassy and any overs expecting the white stuff or storms.

Thanks for the well wishes.

Went to hospital and I’ve got to have surgery, but have to have an appointment with the anaesthesist first to see if it’s safe for me to have general anaesthetic. Phew. No dates yet but they said although it’s usually a day surgery they’ll keep me in overnight to ensure I’m ok.

The weather is lovely here at the moment. Sun is shining. It’s not cold out, almost spring like.

It’s going to keep snowing continuously for every part of the journey well into the night tomorrow, so we’ll stay hunkered down here till Thursday.

Good thing we extended our stay the moment we did: within a couple of hours the entire hotel was filled to capacity! People must have bailed from the Interstate as soon as they saw a hotel sign!

Good morning Overs.

Mags, thinking of you.

Gilmer, I was going to suggest getting your van fixed and carrying on going south

Have a good day everyone.

Mags, keeping fingers and toes crossed for you

No snow here (for a change!)

Andy, these days going south is not necessarily helpful. The weather patterns have changed so much.

Babs, congrats on 1/11! Next month will be a really big one

Have a happy Hump Day, Overs!

Our rationale is to wait till it stops everywhere. Then hopefully they’ll have plowed most of it out, and traveling will be easier.
