Belated birthday greetings FBL! I too am glad you found sobriety, I would have been sad indeed never to have 'met' you!

IP we would have preferred a quiet Eve at home but daughter invited us to gees and we couldn't give a good enough reason not to go! It went ok, but still would have preferred being home!
Today my Xmas decs come down for another year, as we are having a few days away and I don't want to come back to them.

Itchy, you made my day. I’m supposed to be the one who can’t remember too well.
. To be totally honest, though, I knew CK was past one year because of the 24-hour thread and yes, I actually do remember that CK knew the secret Overs thingie.
IP, many, many years ago ... in a galaxy far, far away .... (can you tell that I saw the latest Star Wars movie yesterday!) I felt I would only be happy if I had a husband and child(ren). And if I did the same things I heard everyone else was doing. After a truly horrendous marriage, an offspring who I love dearly (but has been the source of many agonizing feelings), I am finally accepting that my path (like more people than I knew) is a bit different. I find myself feeling relieved that I am single and have been for over 35 years. IMO, Relationships are blissful for some, ok for some and poison for some. Each of us has a unique path to our own happiness.

I missed being a New Year's baby by a little over two hours. My Mom started having labor pains and needed a ride to the hospital. My Dad was playing saxophone in a band and was onstage about 30 minutes away. My Mom's mother wanted to call a cab, but Mom insisted on Dad taking her. They called the club and were able to get a hold of him and he drove as fast as he could. When he was about a half a mile away, the local cops pulled him over for speeding. He explained that his wife was about to give birth, so the cops, with lights flashing, gave them an escort to the hospital. One of the cops later rented some farmland from my Dad's mother and I got to know him quite well. The rest, as they say, is history.
And yes, my avi today is the very first photo of me. Taken exactly 52 years ago today!

Great story FBL! I was born during an ice storm in the middle of January, and my folks took a taxi to the hospital. I get to hear that story every year from my mother.

I missed a few days, same old, same old. I got an unexpected phone call at work today. It was the hospital with an appointment tomorrow at the ENT department at our hospital regarding my nasal polyps (sorry, sounds awful). Not looking forward to it at all.

Glad you are getting seen tomorrow. I've had polyps removed but they weren't in my nose. I go see the Dermatologist bi annually and he burns off slices off or cuts out something every time. When he does a lot of nitrogen burns I look like a kid with bad acne.

Good morning Overs.
Dreamt about drinking last night. When I had drunk an impossibly large bottle of beer I couldn't login to SR. The rest of the dream was totally weird including a bit with snakes all over the floor.
