One Year and Under Club Part 60
Badger starting the day with a gratitude list is a great way to lift the spirits. I have my ups and downs, but for the most part I am thankful for the life I have and the health to enjoy it.
I wish all Undies a happy, sober New Year, and hope that 2018 strengthens your sobriety.

I signed up here quite some time ago, introduced myself... and not long after neglected to make sobriety a meaningful priority.
That's going to change for 2018, and coming here with greater frequency for support and inspiration will be part of that.
Thank you for this forum, and for all the support and insight all of you offer.

Happy new year, lacy-under-year people
Did OK but was given brandy sauce on Christmas pudding (the stuff was 6% alcohol - and I was told it was just flavouring) - it did not trigger a drinking suicide attack - but definitely awakened some alcoholic brain neurons (that have cranked up the nagging after a nice feeding)
Had a lot of sugary stuff - and boy is sugar a toxin when you quit booze - hang-over type symptoms
lost enough money on Bitcoin to buy a small house (life-changing loss of money)
I am seriously going to work on my physical and mental health this year, and try to get my body and mind in the best shape I can, so I can have some peace and happiness in my dotage
I feel pretty good at the moment though - in some pain but optimistic and certain my life is going to get better. Obviously this means I'm going to 'buy the farm' (probably be killed by a meteorite while in my bed)
:-)

Haha hope not RC, we'd miss you!
I'm having to work off my Xmas excesses, at least I don't have all the empty calories from all that booze I would have drank at one time!

Toots isn't that the truth! I used to stock up buying several hundred dollars of booze "for company" and then drink it all myself over the next couple of weeks. Now I do the same thing with chocolate! I have to remind myself that chocolate is not one of the four food groups lol

Man, I have such a sweet tooth! Chocolate, pastries, ice cream, all of it😀 Definitely nice to leave more room for all that goodness(!) now I’m not a boozer.
Btw, are you going to keep doing the trading redcardid? If it was me, I’d stop now. Maybe channel your energy into something a little less stressful. Anyway, just my thoughts.
4 months (122 days) sober according to my app.

Hello all! Sweets! Since it is thankful Thursday, I am thankful that all the holiday cookies, and fudge are gone at work, wow, I am a big stress eater there, constantly feeding my non hungry face.
Getting back into my exercise routine, my work shifts have finally made walking and general activity possible. I could feel myself getting back to my slothful ways of sitting around watching tv with my laptop, my AV loves that and I could feel the creature sneaking around the edges, encroaching into my mind, just like it did before. Complacency, it will be the death of me!!
