Poor guy!!!!

(And I feel for you, phoebe). Hugs

Oh man - that's awful.

I didn't have braces until I was an adult. It was awful not to be able to eat corn on the cob even then!

I had braces from about age 12-14 I think. Then I had a top retainer that I thought I didn't really need long term, so I lost it in college. Turns out I should have kept it. I naturally have gaps in my teeth, but not too bad. I actually like the little gap between my two front teeth, and my left side looks great, so I make sure to pose for pictures with my "good teeth side," which my friends think is hilarious. Luckily, I kept the lower retainer which is permanently glued behind my lower front teeth. That one will be there forever, which is fine.

My daughter has that permanent retainer top and bottom! You probably could get a new retainer if it matters to you, Brian. I’ve spent a few years with Invisalign, and wish I’d just gotten a new retainer before so much shifting occurred.

I still wear my retainers every night.

I left town once for four days without them. I was shocked at how very tight they were when I returned and put them on!!!!!!!

Hi all.

It's been a somber weekend here. As I left the neighborhood early yesterday morning I noticed tire tracks where someone had skidded into the lawn just inside the exit gate. I assumed a visitor was leaving and forgot they had to wait for the gate to open and turned into the yard rather than crash the gate. Turns out it was an intoxicated neighborhood kid (22) who'd been out bachelor partying with two cousins in town for a family wedding Saturday. The folks in the house near the gate had contacted the parents to come but someone else had called the police. Before the police arrived the kid said he needed something from his car. He retrieved a hand gun and killed himself right there in front of his two cousins and the others gathered. Turns out he's often been in drinking-related trouble. This kid is from significant financial advantage and had so much opportunity......lost to alcohol. Not to mention the bride and groom's big day. I don't know how the wedding event was handled. What a tragedy, and all the culmination of alcohol-related mishaps.

Maybe some way some how another will see this tragedy and learn from it.

God Mark.....no words.

All I can think of right now are his parents and family.

I hope you're enjoying Autumn in Ohio Suze. I imagine there are some beautiful drives where you can enjoy the colors. And if it's not too much trouble, please send some cooler weather down here!

It's been weird due to Nate I think....it got very wet and cold, but yes, Autumn is lovely....and this is the exact time I got here last year.

Nick and I are having our picnic at the river on Friday, and it will be really warm I think. I would like sunny as well, so I will send you some cooler weather if you will please send me some sun.
