It's going pretty well, thanks SG. We recorded the 7th track last month and the band has taken on a share in some nice rehearsal rooms here in town, so hopefully we'll keep moving forward after the record is out. We're recording the eighth (out of ten) track later thus month so nearly there. It's taken a year to get this far, but we might be able to release for the summer.

Apart from that, business continues to be failing but I still have a couple of tricks up my sleeve so trying to stay optimistic despite it all

How are you doing? Hope you are well and not working too hard!

I am glad the music is progressing nicely Amp! I hope you can upload a track or two at some point.

Sorry that your business continues to struggle. As you have previously mentioned, you would never have gotten this far if you had been drinking. You seem very resourceful, and I am certain that you have other plans waiting if your current project becomes untenable.

Have a good day all!

It's a regional holiday in Andalucía today and there's a storm blowing outside so we're all holed up at home. I did a bit of composing in the morning. After I stopped drinking I could hardly write for a year... Maybe two, but it's coming back now.

The album we're recording is all material that I wrote before April 2015, so committing those songs to a record is a bit like closing that musical chapter. There's a kind of closure in it. Here's one of them. It's called Only Kindness. There's a kind of desperation in the lyrics. Reminds me of how far I've come...

I really enjoyed Only Kindness, Amp. Very angsty material that reflects on where you were at during the time of writing. This album will be a great closing chapter, and reminder, to that part of your life. Have you written much new material since quitting drinking? I wonder if there will be a different vibe in your writings going forward?

Inc, how is the new job with the bad boss going?

Survived one nasty winter storm, expecting 10-14 inches of snow tomorrow, then possibly one more snow storm Sunday. Supposedly, that will be it for major winter storms this season. I can only hope.

Trying to get some projects going around the house before it warms up and the yard beckons all my free time. I never could do much while drinking, but I am not super motivated to do things like reorganize closets when sober either. At least I am actually making a start.

Have a good day all!

Hey, SG. I'm writing a lot recently and working on my mandolin playing. I used to link drinking to inspiration and for a while couldn't write without it, but when something is in you it finds its way back through in the end.

Heavy weather here too at the moment. It was storm Emma last weekend and this weekend storm Felix. Nobody here remembers it ever having rained for 20 days in a row but I guess climates are changing around the world.

Have a nice weekend and good luck with the snow storms, SG! 🍀

I'm writing (and playing) as good as I ever have Amp - it took a while, but it's great to have the spark back

Rainmans in for 24.
ugg, 4th week in a row that I'm traveling. I am taking advantage of lots of conversations with my Higher Power (GOD). Without his hands on my shoulders I know I would be back to my old ways.
And I need to thank ya'll.

Welcome Rainman 1. Good luck in your sobriety travels. As we here are approaching three years since our last drink, we can say that life is definitely better sober than drinking. Keep on keeping on!

Inc, where are you? It seems like you haven't been here in a month. I hope things are going ok with you!

Yeah, come on Inc! We need you! Whatever happened to the CASIOs? If it just stays with SG, me and Dee, our initials spell SAD 😔! You can't do that to us!

Same goes for OMD and Cauliflower! Come by and say hi! It's getting lonely here!

Nice to here that your music is coming along, Dee. It's taken me these last 3 years to begin to feel on top of my game again

I hope OMD is doing well. I see he hasn't been on SR for many months. Hopefully he will surprise us soon. I really want to hear from Cauli and her winter vacation.

Guess you and I gotta hold down the fort Amp until some others check back in.

Take care!

How are things going Amp? Mandolin is an awesome instrument to add to your repertoire. That could be a great addition to your album!

Had another large snow storm mid week this week. The nice thing is that it melts quickly this time of year. After a pretty quiet winter, we have had four snowstorms this month. My yard is nothing but mud.

I was just reflecting on our approaching the three year mark shortly. We have come a long way for sure. Hopefully, some of our fellow alumni will stop by and share their goings on.

Have a good weekend!

Hey man! Nice to hear from you! 3 years is a big one for sure! Do you think about drinking much these days? I certainly don't obsess over it but it's in my mind one way or another pretty much every day. I still get drinking dreams too. I remember the bad times a lot. Helps me keep my mind from wandering off the straight and narrow!

Mandolin is cool. I used it on the track we recorded last week and it sounds amazing. Album should be finished in May and out in the autumn. Looking forward to it. We started over a year ago but time and financial considerations have made the process quite drawn out. Even so, I think we're going to end up with a great result!

Have a good weekend!!

Just checking in to say "Hi" Amp. I hope that you have a good Easter weekend coming up. I am certain that living in a country with a large Catholic population like Spain has, Easter is quite the big deal. I hope to have a meal and enjoy time with my folks and my sister.

Best wishes!

Nice to hear from you, SG. I've had this week off and we've been over to Portugal to visit Oporto. Amazing place!

Now visiting my wife's family back in Spain.

April is just around the corner and we'll soon be passing the 3 year mark. Who would have thought it. Well done to you, SG! Not so many of us made it this far. I'm hoping a few of the other group members may pop by next month. Hoping a few others are continuing to do well!
