Hi gang,

Sorry I don't respond to every bodies post.
I do read them and care about you guys.
Sometimes I feel like I'm getting stretched in many directions lately.
My wife first, then daughter, home and work. Been working late cutting wood after work. My daughter scored a full time job today.
I'm so proud of her. It will help pay for her college.
And maybe a car.
I know a lot of us are having difficulties. My best advice is to take each day as it arrives and not look too far ahead. Like we did when we quit, day by day.

Matthew 6:34
Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Good stuff Bob.
Well , went to pain clinic (perhaps just to show I am committed to this process- a bit like meetings some days). Waited 40 minutes. The young lady doc. said had 4 people booked by their admin at the same time. Tried explaining re- fatigue+ the flashbacks and pain leaves Johnny a dull boy- with rest. Option 1- hypnotherapy (expensive mindful breathing, which I do well for free) or drugs. So managed to get a change of a-d , with neuropathic properties, that is not addictive and also (apparently) helps with sleep. The 4th a-d change in 20 months. Oh well, I have found that I seem to heal a LITTLE better with each piece of advice. Like a jigsaw puzzle without the picture on the box..

Morning Julyers

Bob, good advice!

PJ, jigsaw puzzle is good analogy.

Leshar, no plumber! After 2 hours late I sent a very polite text asking if he was coming? His wife answered saying he is in hospital and hoping to be out that same day and he will be in touch. I'm leaving it until tomorrow and going to text to see how he is, and if or when he will be starting up work again. With lots of compassion.

Thinking of you all and sending prayers and hugs all round. x

Part of this wonderful recovery program I am doing- offers a whoe gammit of stuff to help- meditation, art (guess who liked that one), music, self improvement stuff. One was a talk from a professional about brain training- exercises (the brain lady). She advocated them for retraining the brain to do new activities to remove negative thinking associated with booze- including jigsaws. I forced myself to do this 15 minutes a day- stopped after a week. Now I do computer chess. I get excited when it takes nearly a second to move a piece.

I was always too scatterbrained for chess!

Even checkers are hit or miss for me!

fact is, Gilly- so am I. BUT I prefer it to a jigsaws. The work of the devil, I tells ya.

Starting work on the CBT stuff. Doing the 'depression' test- I apparently am in the suicide range. Do not ever think that- but I have been told many times I am different- the word atypical keeps getting brought up. A very good actor, it seems. I know I have to do this- because I hate it.
Ah- to be born with Lord Byron's title, money and talent- with morals.

Prayers for you, too, Mags, and for your plumber, also.
