Hello Decemberites!

Pebbles - massive congratulations on your two months

Quitter - I hope everything goes as smoothly as possible with your stepdaughter. I hope she manages to turn things round this time. Massive kudos to you for coping in what must be a very stressful situation.

CK - Quitting Booze and Ciggs at the same time is very admirable! I was slightly different in that I quit smoking a few years back, and found it really easy. The alcohol however destroyed me time and time again. I hope that your mood picks up a bit for you soon

For those who haven't checked in, please say Hey!

All is well here, but I've gone and hurt my bloody back playing Squash. Been in agony today. I'm just hoping it eases off a bit before tomorrow, as i'm playing Football, which I've been really looking forward to as well. Fingers crossed.

Much love all
B

Well, today didn't go so well. Picked stepdaughter up, took her to breakfast, talked a lot, drive an hour to rehab. Signed her in for intake screening, they told me I would be waiting for a couple hours. Went out to my truck to wait and she texts me 15 min later that they are sending her home. They smelled alcohol and she told them she drank this morning! I didnt even know that. So.....same time tomorrow we will try again.
She also told me she smoked meth last night, not sure if she told them that but she cannot sign paperwork intoxicated. I agree with their policy. They seem to be strict which is good.
Trying again in the morning. Wish us luck!

My day was a lot easier than yours...
It sounds like she doesn't want to quit whatever she is using.

You are very brave mon ami Quitter.

Courage, you'll need more tomorrow. - CK

Really frustrated. Showed up to get stepdaughter at 8am as we had arranged. Her phone dead or off. Had to knock on the door to wake her up. She looks like hell. In my truck now waiting for her to get dressed etc.
I brought a breathalyzer that I am havin her blow into before we waste another trip.
Been waiting 20 minutes now and still no sign of her.
Later Class! Ughhhhhh

If it could get worse it did of course! The facility just says walk-in appts from 9-3 M-F. Nothing is advertised about first come first serve until full. Although we still got here 15 min after opening they turned us away saying they just reached their quota to come back at 1:00pm! We had no way of knowing that but if my daughter hadn't overslept we would have gotten in.
We went and killed a bunch of time and took her shopping to get some clothes and essentials and got back here at 11:30 so we can wait another hour and a half to get in the 1:00 session.
Pretty sure my ENTIRE DAY is shot.
The bad part is that even though we are in the city an hour from home she has seen 3 girls she knows and a 4th one that she beat up before!!!! (Lord help us!!!!)

Well, it got even worse.......might post about it later, might not. Stepdaughter living in a false reality. Took 2 days to run her around and wait all day, spent $100 buying her necessities because she has no money and a simple discussion on the ride home ended with her screaming at me over some crazy stuff she has fabricated to be true in her mind. I'm still so mad I can't see straight! She will have to get herself back down there next week. I am out!

No Good Deed Shall Go Unpunished!!!!!

I think you've done enough Quitter. If she hasn't got the willingness to get there herself there's not much point.

I'm not a parent so apologies if that sounds callous - it's not meant to be.

I agree with Dee, Quitter. I think you have done everything in your power, if not more. There has to be a willingness to want to change on her side which doesn't seem to be there at the moment. I really hope she 'wakes up' and decides to do this for herself.

I hope you're okay Quitter, appreciate this must be a mightily difficult time for you.

P.s where are Enfin, Meso, Pebbles, Capri, ChloeRose hiding? Come say hi

Hey BBB, no worries. All good here considering. Sure as hell ain't drinking over it. Going arrowhead hunting and digging a few holes to find my happy place.

I know Chloe is still popping in on the 24 hour thread but missing her here. Not sure where everyone else has been lately, they are slacking! LOL

Good thing you're staying on the sober path Quitter.
I was worrying a bit with all that pressure on your shoulders...

I'm afraid we have lost a few classmates lately.
RayJay and rockyMTNrider are gone I think.

That concept of "classes" on SR is fantastic for the first month but it can be a real downer after.
I feel very lonely seing people leaving without even saying goodbye.
I hang around a few other groups but they are not my true "family" like the December class was...

Well, the important is that I'm staying sober at least for myself.

We can make it

Lo and behold, stepdaughter texted that she made it to rehab on time this morning. (Not exactly, they told her 8am and she got there at 9 something but apparently still made the quota cutoff).

She was posting on FB at 3:15am which can't be good, no sleep. Told me "Thanks, Love Y'all", just like nothing even happened last week. I'm still pissed off but at least she is there so she can figure it out from here on out.

Later!

Quitter, glad she made it to rehab this time. Good stuff

Just a quick check in as today is my birthday. 25 years young!

Just having a quiet one and having a game of Squash tonight. Not even thought about having a drink!
