Ultra, I am very happy for you - golden or not, handcuffs are handcuffs! I think your pursuing your dream is great - you will help yourself, but also be a great help to others as a therapist. You have already had practice- helping the rest of us along the way!

So our cities annual beer fest starts today. I am sick of hearing about it! No I'm not going, no I don't think I'm missing out, yes I can live without beer, no I'm not weird or on a funny diet, yes there are other things I am doing, no I'm not a party pooper. Jeez. So instead of going to get Pissed at beer festival, I'm off to tollthorpe outdoor theatre to watch the Shakespeare company perform the tempest. I think that Rocks!

Much love xxx

Greetings!

Nothing new here - I am enjoying the summer weather. Because of the drama at my town beach, caused by the Book Club witch, my sisters, cousin and I have been trying different beaches. We can get in some free with our Senior Pass, but it is worth the $20 parking fee to have a peaceful day at the beach where you are anonymous! This woman - just think, she is the reason I quit drinking- when I finally realized others could tell I had been drinking before book club - has the old crowd at the town beach in an uproar. Meanwhile, she was fired from her last job and is now applying to be Town Manager. She has her MBA, and she has wonderful evaluations and references (mostly from companies her family owns!) And, apparently none from the number of businesses that have fired her.....including the one that reprimanded her for purposely eating spicy food for lunch!! So, this should be something. She mentions things at book club, but not one member questions her or comments about her latest shenanigans on the beach. Personally, I enjoy hearing about the drama, after the fact, but do not want to be anywhere near it!

Let's keep on keeping on!

Hope all is well Team!

I'm applying and interviewing for part time mentor positions with those with autism or special needs. Ideally I can work some during the program. It will be challenging several terms since one is required to intern 2-3 days per week as part of the program.

Tomorrow will be my first run in a long time, then Sunday I'm taking my son to a Red Sox game.

Lets keep it up Team!

Greetings! Wow! I haven't checked in for a long while. I'm thankful that I have each of you to check it with. It's been a difficult few weeks- but not on the sober side. I love being sober!

Congrats to each one of you for reaching (by Sunday) 2 YEARS!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! We did it!!!!!

Congrats, Dry on your marriage!
I hope you and your boot are having a great vacation, determined!
Scooter, you have brought us through many, many, many good and bad days!
London, I, too, want to post more often- I always feel human again after reading all of your posts.
Congrats, Ultra, for navigating your way through a meaningful career change! We can be fellow students!
Pink, isn't it great that we can see the beerfests for the bordom that it is? Shakespeare sounds so much better!

Love to you all!!!! I missed you!

2 years ago today I embarked on the most terrifying journey. I was so frightened, in a very dark place and so unwell. 2 years later I am eating cake for breakfast drinking shloer and celebrating 2 years sober, 2 years cigarette free and 3 stone 4lbs lighter. I feel so emotional but also freaking fantastic.

Life is good!

I have strength, courage, peace and power in my every spirit and breath.

Thank you all so so so so much for keeping me strong and holding me up and just being there, you guys rock!

2 freaking years baby! Woooooohoooooooo!

Let there be cake 😀

Pink, I know exactly what you mean....so, so hard to believe - yet, such pride in ourselves when we realize TWO YEARS ! ! !......amazing, wonderful, just perfect.

Our lives have done a complete 180 in the past two years. And, as a team, we helped each other get and stay sober.

I occasionally think of the others we started with two years ago who helped us all when we first started, and I hope they are doing well and have found their own way to sobriety.

Good morning and happy Monday!!

Back to work today, fantastic trip. Beautiful place, a marriage of Hawaii and Alaska.

I can't remember if it was London or pink, but someone recommended a European ski area that sounded fantastic. Anyone recall this? I am wanting to get the next one out there to look forward to.

Congrats everyone! Truly amazing isn't it?

So I was at a Red Sox game with my 12 y/o last night.

We watched innings 1-3 then spent time walking around the park. His ticket was free from a promotion- so the seats were not ideal. The experience was great though- no complaints.

At one point a drunk fan ran on the field and was of course tackled by security. I told my son the guy must have had a bunch of beer. Earlier I'd told him beers were like $12 each. My son laughed and said that guy spent a lot of money!

That put our $5 hot dogs in perspective!

Lets keep it up!
