I used to say that my goal everyday was to go to bed sober. Sometimes I'd fall in bed just thinking "I made it!!!" My head hitting the pillow each night was a victory. That sweetness still fills my head at night. The security, the sweetness, the satisfaction of my sober head hitting the pillow is my favorite thing.

yesterday I have a busy day, my kids and grandkids show up for dinner and cake ,love it .
today a have a broken tooth that I got to pull and not coverage, but guess what I'm not worry, I got the money to pull it out, the gift of sobriety.
any way going to a meeting them dentist, and them road trip.
have wonderful time everyone, and for those struggling remember it will past just not pick the first drink.

Fortunately, my mother's function went well. My brother and I were very civil to each other. My mother was very happy with the family event and it went smoothly. Prior to the function, I resolved to keep a positive state of mind and to only think of helping everyone at the function celebrate and enjoy. Thankfully, that worked !
