How are you doing VKittycat?
I think about you a lot. I didn't realize you were kind of close to my age. I'm a few years older..just a few.

I sure wish we could meet up. I never get to meet anyone. I live in the sticks. Well....actually Trachy and maybe Babs might live in the sticks too. Haha. No offense to sticks. I like sticks. Haha. Wait. Actually there maybe more stick people here than city folk come to think about it.

I have been the healthiest eater on the planet now for about 3 months. Tonight I'm beautifying myself with face goop. I need to get my mojo back. I accident,y hit the snooze button on it. I miss my mojo.

Marcher...I've been getting rain on for days. And my momma Cardinal is the best mom. She will not leave her nest no matter what. I literally have had my face about a foot from her. She won't leave those eggs. I took a picture. I will see if I can show you.

xoxo

I started the day sad, and decided that was not an option. So I have been reaching out today. I am still really missing my ex...we stayed friends, but he has completely disappeared on me now, which is probably a good thing in the long run. But his timing was awful...it's hard to keep losing people.

My flu is on the way out, but I have been stuck inside for four days now. I am looking forward to getting out of here tomorrow. It amazes me that I used to spend many days and sometimes longer alone with my drinking...how I survived that is beyond me.

One thing I have noticed is that I look AWFUL at the moment. That must change. I don't do face gunk, but I do cleanser and moisturiser and I'm sure you know this, but Vitamin C and Evening Primrose Oil are so good for our skin. The flu and the past week of emotional stuff has all just come out on my face. I don't like being scared when I look in the mirror.

And I love that photo!

NSW is having horrendous rain and flooding. I have no clue if the place Marcher lives in is near the worst-hit regions. I am so bad at geography.

I am just hoping that her family is safe. And that she will have power, and be able to check in and let us know.

EDIT: I checked ABC news, and looked it up. It looks like the worst may be quite a long way from Marcher.
I certainly don't mean to alarm anyone; I was just concerned.

I'm pretty sure Marcher's area is out of danger for now V, but prayers for her and all the other NSWers on SR. It looks pretty bad.

Hi guys just a quick check in as I didn't get here yesterday.

Chuff, give yourself a real shot at sobriety, it sounds like you have nothing left to lose, so how about going for a win? Go to your GP get all the help they can offer, including counselling if it's there. Find an AA meeting near you and start going as often as you can. Write a journal, write here, blog here if it helps. Just do what you need to to turn things around.

Marcher I hope you and yours are ok

I hope all Aussies suffering that awful weather are okay.

VC I am thinking of you sweetie.

Hugs All xx

Chuff, I think you missed most of my trouble with repeated relapsing. Previous times I quit were comparatively easy but it became more and more difficult. I was close to giving up. Fortunately I had a really good pdoc who I finally told and who took action. I did an intensive outpatient program and AA - and I didn't think I would ever do either. The addiction specialists wanted me to do inpatient rehab but agreed to let try do a 3-month outpatient version. For the first 2 months I didn't believe anymore that I could ever stay sober. I stuck with it and finally thought I might be able to do it. After that was finished I continued AA meetings 2-4 times a week. It is always a work in progress.

Although I didn't mention it above, SR was a real lifesaver and is now my continued support of choice. I read every day and rarely miss a day posting. I know now that I will always need to be vigilant and expect to be here a long time.

I know the rest of you have heard this before so please excuse. I wanted to let Chuff know that there is hope ... and to reach our shared goal necessitates doing whatever it takes to get there.

ditto Sass.

Thank God we have this support network.
It took me so many years to find this kind of peace in my life...I didn't think it would ever happen.
But it can Mick.

Hi bookmaven. Don't let Dee's suggestion mean you aren't welcome here. There are no hard and fast rules. March 2014 is a lot quieter than this thread. And we welcome all. Classes don't matter. If you like it here, stay.

Yes, Bookmaven. I'm a transplant from January 2013, May, 2013, and November 2013! I lurked here for awhile and really enjoyed it, so I asked if I might join, and everybody welcomed me with open arms!

Welcome Bookmaven Join in with us and/or 2014 Marchers, Marchers are marchers whichever year they were persuaded.

Thanks V but Dee is right ...

We seem to have slipped under the radar (no pun intended err, well maybe...it was it's a good 'un), all we've had here besides wild weather is a few leaking windowsills. We literally didn't go out today, we didn't open the shop which is a first in 16 years -- we have closed slightly early once or twice before but never not opened. We knew that the workshop couldn't operate and we figured that nobody in their right mind would come in to shop or get a framing quote.

Tonight is predicted to be pretty wild as the storms whip up parallel to the coast then move inland from the sea, we are expecting the worst of it around midnight or in the wee small hours, but we are planning on working tomorrow as we expect it will have burned itself out in 10-12 hours. I was super productive today on an unexpected day off, I knitted two pairs of cute cool bootees for friends' expected babies, baked an almost-healthy chocolate cake, helped Mum sort a few areas and optimised Mr Marcher's laptop computer. I guess it was our version of a snow day?

Chuff I hope you are around?

When I got up, I signed onto the 24-hour thread before I did anything else, and I mentioned that my area had thunderstorms last night.

When I hear about the horrors in Oz, I suddenly feel very sheepish!

Gilmer don't feel sheepish, the wild weather is really localised over an area of about 300k, the rest of the state is actually in nice weather! It's far worse north of us.
