JS, I stir fried the veggies and mixed them with the pasta and lentils. Red pepper flakes and oil, salt, thyme, and sprinkle of cheese. Yumm!

Craving is bad right now but I'm not gonna cave! No smoking for me tonight!

Della - sounds like all went well. Very cool.
I do not know if you can get the TV show. It's the morning news on WGN, a local Chicago station. The same one that has broadcasted the Cubs games for years. I'll try to get a copy.

Brynn I am glad your dinner was good too. Like you, I do not miss St. Patty's Day celebrations.

Yay kitty! Do you have any chewy candy, like twizzlers, or hard candy or gum? My first week I chewed so many twizzlers my jaw ached!!

And I know ive said this before, but with the money I saved not smoking I bought a new car! Not sure if that's any incentive or not, kitty!

Tonks, an Italian beef sandwich is a Chicago thing.
Here is the Wiki link: Italian beef - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The sandwich that they show as the example is no where near the best but you will get the idea.

I've seen those on sandwiches on food network...they dip the roll in the juices. People love those things!

By the way...we ate at a steak house (I'm the only vegetarian in my family). I had a salad, grilled veggies (yum) and home made sourdough bread with real butter! Heaven! I could've eaten just the bread and been fine! Ha!
Marty....get a good starter yet? When I move back home I'm getting some for sure!!

No starter yet. I keep forgetting to order it when I go on Amazon. I am the queen of Amazon 'cause I have a prime membership - free 2-day shipping. When I couldn't drive I got all kinds of stuff - now I have a huge pile of empty shipping boxes!

Had a terrific day. Went to my women's meeting this morning, got some housework done, hung out with my guy friend, and hung out at my old watering hole with more friends and laughed my a** off. Got a little action (wink wink) even! Guys friends can be useful sometimes! Home now and making a pizza for one.

Not sure I've told Y'all about my unusual custody arrangement with my ex. We rented a small apartment here in town. One of us is always at the house with our son, and the other stays at the apartment. That way our son doesn't have to go back and forth. Works out pretty well. So I'm at the apartment tonight.

Marty, glad you had fun and got a little action.
Interesting living arrangement but I'm sure it's good for your son.
Let us know which sourdough starter you like on Amazon - I'll order some too.

Interesting arrangement mld with the apt. Glad you got some.

Hey BBQ. I grew up with WGN. BOZO Harry Carey and now jack! They'll probably have the clip on their web site or something. We even had wgn when I moved down in Florida so I continued to cry over the cubs.

Sounds like a good day Della.
I never had good st patty days as I usually gave up drinking for lent as my only way to moderate

I'm originally from Chicago and I'm still a die-hard Cubs fan. Also remember Bozo fondly. My dad still lives there, right on the edge of the loop. Haven't visited him in quite a while (long story) but I do love the place still.

Not a big fan of St. Patty's day either. I'm part Irish too. Amateur hour, indeed. Never appreciated having to step around piles of green puke.

I do like Ireland! I'm irish too. Guess my great grandfather had the town stud (horse) and would be paid in whiskey. The horse would have his fun then walk back to the farm with my great great grandpa passed out his back.
