Merry Christmas everyone. It was a wonderful day. All the time and effort was worth the smiles on my kids faces today. But boy am I exhausted! But also very grateful to be sober and for all of you.

My father in law brought me a bottle of wine today. I've been battling my AV all week and it went into overdrive with the thought of that bottle. I had almost decided I would have a glass, but then slowed myself down and made a promise to myself to wait it out, give it time, to come here first. I made it, the urges passed. I won't drink the wine, but I need to get rid of it asap. I think I'll re-gift it tomorrow at work.

Checking in a bit early again since husband is wanting to start a new video game. Going for another 24 hours at 8:51p CST.
First completely sober holiday season (Thanksgiving and Christmas) in a very long time.

. Merry Christmas! This is my 3rd Christmas in recovery AND my 1st at my parents home since getting sober . Last night and tonight .....well .... Let's just say I'm so grateful to have my husband and son here with me. I know it's tough cause this is the 1st Christmas after my brother's death. Still, the meanness that's lashed out after too many drinks, it's tough. I'm in the bedroom for the night, with you my friends here on SR, my Big Book, and of course my Sponsor (via FB private message).
