Coldfusion wrote that fall is a time to start looking for the Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights. I’ve only seen the Northern Lights once, in Michigan, in summer, a lucky and unusual sighting. This is a great video of the Northern Lights seen in Scotland last February (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fVsONlc3OUY).
In the southern latitudes, we have the Southern Lights, which are more rarely seen by ordinary people, because fewer people live far enough south. Do we have any Tasmanians among us? These photos of the Aurora Australis were taken in Tasmania, somewhere called Seven Mile Beach, in October 2012.
Honestly I can’t find words to convey anything that would add to those images. So I’ll wish you all a good night, and hope to see you here again tomorrow!

24 more, pretty please & thank you.
Prepping for my first sober vacation. Entire family celebration for in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. Have a sister-in-law who is a control freak of epic proportion & she's already in rare form. I will not let my AV use my complete & total irritation of this to sway me from my course (as it's trying to). This trip is about celebrating a wonderful couple and the fruits of their life together. Not about the pettiness & issues of others. I WILL remain sober.
Did have a celebration last night in that a text went out about what kind of champagne to buy. My reply was that I'll be taking care of the sparkling juice for the grandkids & me. Period. No further explanation or declaration. Hooray!!
You all are coming with me so I hope you like the beach! I'm gonna need each of you!
Love, light & hope going out to all of us.
