Checking in on day 2. Not too bad, I was busy and my head only felt like I bumped it earlier in the day, nothing too bad.
Starting to worry about a few days out, I have already thought about having a few drinks over the weekend, and I pushed that urge/thought back.
Thanks for every sharing their thoughts, it helps.

sometimes, in the early days, we need to get through day by day Badger.
You're a fair way out from next weekend - make plans that don't include alcohol - and lean on the support here, and in the weekend thread that will pop up in a few days
If you want it, you can do this Badger.

I'm at the end of Day 8. Irritability - not as bad as a few days ago. Headaches - a little better. Cravings - popping up out of nowhere and there seem to be triggers everywhere. For example, I heard a song today that reminded me of my vacation last summer and I suddenly had an overwhelming urge to drink a bottle of vodka. Is that song forever ruined for me? Sigh.
I'm also avoiding Diet Coke because that is what I would mix with the vodka. It actually tastes strange to me, without the vodka in it.

I'm too lazy to scroll back through to see if I told you this before Bob (Dylan, right?) (a.k.a. anewpage) but in case I didn't here's a good lead on what to do tonight:
Alcoholics Anonymous : Local Resources that provide A.A. Meeting Information (U.S./Canada) States

Oh yeah, and for you Free:
Alcoholics Anonymous : Local Resources that provide A.A. meeting information (Overseas)

I hope it is OK to jump on this month's class. I originally joined last September's or October's and started drinking again in March. On day three/four here now and struggling a bit, not with the desire to drink, but the slightly overwhelming experience of feelings returning - not least anger and irritability..and anxiety! Good luck to my fellow travelers!

I went to my first AA meeting on Monday, I have another tomorrow.
Day 5...wow who would of thought! Went to a meeting last night and was truly blessed. Feeling ok. A little anxiety still but all in all God has held my hand through these first sober days and I am thankful! Long dayof work today but happy to be feeling clear headed for the most part! Hope all of of the May class are pushing forward, thank you all for sharing as you press on!

Restarting...
Hello class,
Looks like I need to join this class. I joined 12/31/13 and snuck into the class of Dec 2014, had some short lived sobriety and controlled drinking, but things just got worse a month ago... so I'm rejoining here!
I'm glad to say I am on day 10 sober 12 days before that with a little slip up where I drank a 40 oz two Sundays ago. After I did that I felt bad and ran to the chat room with my head down.
My life has gotten bad, all due to drinking. But I know it won't get better if I drink anymore, and it still CAN get worse. So I'm here fighting the good fight
I think the best piece of advice I've gotten here is "Nothing else bad can happen because of drinking, if you don't drink anymore". That is something that is sticking with me and I remind myself daily of. The bad things that happened due to drinking are far more then anything good that's happened.
I am looking forward to getting to know you all and wish you the best in your sobriety and recovery!!
