Hi
Hope everyone is staying strong and reaching out when they aren't! I am learning how important that is!

I am thrilled that I have 4 days of temp work starting tomorrow. It is in my field too...fisheries/marine sciences which I am getting my masters degree in.

This is a really great thing for me. It is only four days but it gives me purpose, money, networking and hope.

Prays for strength! Cheers for hope!

I can face my issues or try to work them out, I must identify that I'm just feeling awkward and that is usually why I want a drink, and I need to prevent boredom. I must remember that it will pass and I'll be so happy I was patient enough to let it all blow over.
Oh my gosh, yes! I love it!

This is spot on! Feeling sad or out of place? Dump some poison down my throat to feel better or give a sense of being relaxed so I can fit into a social situation. Bored? Drink and it'll go away... after I pass out. And the cravings WILL go away. I'm stronger than my AV.... and I know I've mentioned I'm stubborn.

Ilya, thanks for sharing about your cravings. Feeling some myself tonight, and I'm glad you guys are all here.

I'm not going to pick up a drink, but kinda feel the cravings for no good reason.

SeaScape, no way would I have been successful if it wasn't for the support I've gotten from SR. So many knowledgeable people here and so many kind and encouraging words.

Thank you guys for the well wishes for my buddy. I'm sure he'll be fine. I'm just kind of feeling like a bad mom, like maybe I should have gotten him in sooner.

Hey, Facingfuture!

Hope things are going well.

Have you tried just having something with sugar in it? Candy, fruit? You could just want a sugar fix.

Morning Class.
Mood swing seems to have swung in a more positive direction this morning.
Just finished my morning meditation.

Ilya's recipes from last night have left me hungry for a weird breakfast. Maybe smoked kippers in a chocolate sauce.!

It's day 30 for me. Wish I'd gone to AA now. I'm envious of Bimini's medal!

Nothing else to report really, I just like to make it part of my regime to check in daily.

BTW, If you're missing off the roll call, please add yourself, or send a post and I'll do it for you.

Have a good, sober/clean one.

Peace

Congratulations Sparkos! 30 days whoo hoo !!

Im day 27 so catching up

Morning everyone, grey and foggy here, meeting mum for lunch then off to London for weekend, nice to get a change of scenery.

As some may know Ive been moaning about suffering bloating/puffiness still, and aargh, just read about side effects from my new medicine for sciatica, weight gain....blah!!!

Oh well, keep marching Marchers x

Hi Toddle.

Bummer about the side effects.
Mrs Sparkos swears by local heat to the lower back for her sciatica.

I'm sure the puffiness will go down in time. Continue with the gallons of water.

Good luck

Morning Everyone!

The sun rose, the sun set, Kopfan didn't drink :-)

Played cards last night with my son when I'd normally brush him off with "maybe tomorrow" because I was too busy drinking.

I laughed so much I nearly cried, I haven't laughed like that with my kids for years.

That is worth staying sober for.

Poker night tonight which derailed me last time around but I've got the ginger beers at the ready and the spectre of a day one frightens me into not drinking.

Peace and sobriety to all.

Kopfan.

Morning guys.

Got a bit of a better sleep last night and on to day 3. Hunger is starting to come back too thank The Lord.

Still feeling awful shame and regret but I'm hoping that will pass in time.

Great result with the kids kopfan. So much better than booze. Laughing with your nearest and dearest is surely one of life's most precious joys.

Mine have grown up and I miss those innocent, carefree moments. Make the most of them.

My son is in Afghanistan and I'm naturally worried for him. He phoned a couple of days ago and is loving it. Thankfully his addiction is adrenaline. Although I'm not sure if it's any less dangerous!

Good plan for tonight. I'll be thinking of you. Please post before and after.
