The Storm
So what do we do when we feel like we can't make it through and want to drink or use?
Well we just hang tough, we don't give up. I pray.
We don't entertain those thoughts when they come in to our minds. We tell ourselves
that numbing the pain is NO LONGER AN OPTION.
Think that drink or drug all the way through to the next morning with all it's guilt, shame
and remorse.
Through the storm, through the rain, through the hurt , through the pain, we stand strong.
We hold on, We take cover.
We let others help us carry the load. We trust God.
We share our load in SR. We call a friend. We go to a meeting.
If we are going through a storm let's see ourselves on the other side with the strength and
wisdom we are undoubtedly going to gain from this experience.
It's only after being through the storm that we will truly be able to appreciate the sunshine.
It's just a little storm and it will pass.
The rain won't last forever.
Always remember that feelings always pass, but the consequences of drinking and drugging
may have lasting consequences.
It's just a little storm. Ride it out. Bad feelings never killed anyone.
Let's do this!!

It was raining here today... I can't say I was dancing in the puddles, but it sure felt better than the cold we had the past week.

Nitey nite Son's College Graduation in a few hours. Gonna be a memory I will cherish and not regret cuz I will be clean and sober!
