Class of July 2013 Pt 7
Hey, Snoozy, if its sort of politic for you go to the work thing, could you just go for say half an hour, then make your excuses? It's a tough call i guess, but if you really don't feel ready, I agree with Dee, better not to go at all.
Take care!
Take care!
Hiya lovely ;-) glad you had a good day ...xx
No I'm DEFINATELY NOT going to the work party . I just cant .
I'm not ready . Im the type of person who finds it very hard to say no :-(
I don't know why , I've always been that way . But this time I'm putting me first cos it's just too dangerous for me , ALL my workmates drink . I couldn't even go for a half hour .
I tried that at the last one and got smashed . ;(
My sobriety means everything to me .
My boss has no right to make me feel bad if i don't go .
So I'll hear ugly stories about others and i wont have to wake the next morning thinking ....oh crap ......
And getting flashbacks during the next day trying to remember what I said or did
:-)
Xx

Happy Belated Birthday, Leshar! 2 Sounds like you had a nice day, good for you!
Daughter has off school today so we are taking it easy this morning. Got our Xmas tree and did all of our holiday decorating over the weekend. Kind of glad the Thanksgiving holiday is over. Next year I am saying NO to hosting it. I don't care if it's become a tradition. I learned my lesson and it wasn't worth losing my sobriety. Not going or having anyone over for Xmas. I just have to get through my husbands holiday party this weekend. They always have it at a really nice hotel in Philadelphia so my husband and I stay over and get a nice mini-weekend away. The last 2 years I got so drunk I didn't even remember the end of the nights. I was sneaking drinks in the bathroom and was just a real mess. Fortunately, everyone else was drunk too. So, while it will be nice to have a night away with hubby, I'm not really looking forward to being around all of the drinking. I guess it will be nice to be the only one not hungover at breakfast the next day?!
Hope everyone is doing well and having a good Monday

I was so ill ...OMG , it makes me sick just thinking about what i used to do to myself ;(
I need to keep reminding myself i never wanna go back to that

I don't think I had one sober night from Thanksgiving last year till New Years.
I was drinking very hard last year around this time. Much more than I did on a regular basis.
The worst is when you think a little hair off the dog will help and you end up puking.
Only to go back and try it again later.
What a mess I was in.
I remember going Christmas shopping and making sure a rest room was near in case I needed to throw up. Aweful...just freakin aweful.
So glad this year will be so much better.

Hi, Ladybug, thanks for the birthday wishes! I like your seasonal avatar!
Yes, maybe it's time for some new traditions, let someone else host Thanksgiving next year.
Good luck with your husband's holiday party. Perhaps just enjoy yummy food/treats, if there are some? I feel for you. But this is the new you, don't let what happened last year undermine your confidence this year, new traditions, right?!

Thanks, Leshar Yes, you are right, new traditions need to start for me. There is usually good food at this thing, even if I don't remember much of it. Going to enjoy it this year. Even if I gain 10 lbs doing so Going to do something I should have done on TG and POST if I start struggling. Instead of sneaking drinks in the bathroom stall I'll use my phone to log into SR.
