Class of July 2013 Pt 7
Hi all -
Hope everyone had a good Christmas! End of Christmas day here. Christmas was....okay. Main thing is that I didn't drink. Wasn't even really tempted. Enjoyed spending time with my BF's family - they really are great! And they liked the gifts I picked out (one of my fav part of Christmas is seeing people open their gifts!)
BF drank - Christmas Eve either while out shopping or sneaking here at home late morning and afternoon. Was drunk, but not too drunk to not go to his family's Christmas Eve celebration. But definitely noticeable and irritating, at least to me. While there wound up in a conversation with a family member who asked if we had plans to get married. When I said none right now she went on and on about how good we were for each other, how he is so much happier now that we are together, how he just needed to take his time and find the right woman, how well I fit in with the family and on and on. Sigh.
He continued to sneak drinks at home after we got home and he slept/passed out on the couch until 2am. I'd left him on the couch at around 10pm.
We exchanged gifts in the morning. Not only had he apparently shopped for them drunk the day before Christmas (one of my gifts was a coat rack, huh?), he'd also wrapped my gifts while drunk. Looked like he'd wrapped them with his feet,
But if he drank on Christmas he didn't drink much and was fine at his family's Christmas Day celebration and we had a really good time. But now he's not feeling well and he's on the couch again.
Trying to stay focused my own path and get out of his as he stumbles down his.

Hi Bob, my dear sober twin who always has a kind word when I've done it tough.
Congrats on 5 months...I hadn't forgotten. Snoozy beat me to it, but I was waiting til it was officially the right time where you are.
Been good sharing the journey with you. Hope you've had a lovely sober Christmas.
Cheers to you with a Seltzer (sparkling mineral water here!).

Oh yeah, but I had my slip in Oct, so technically, no 5 months for me. I'm mostly sober for 5 months! Not much of a counter, so it never bothers me. Time is only important to me in that it gets easier as time goes on, so yes 5 months trying my best has paid off!

2 days of no work....and loving it. Ventured briefly to the sales....sofa called me back home and I had a nap! Happy days!
