Morning undies.

Very windy here on so cal. It woke me up early. Was planning a long bike ride but will have to put it off. Don't think I would make it very far.
Had a nice date night with hubby last night. He had free tickets to the Lakers so we went to LA for dinner first at a trendy seafood place and then the game. I never could imagine before being able to go to a sporting event without drinking beers, but I did it! And it was fun! Who woulda thought?
Hope you all are well. Sounds stormy out there for a lot of you. Stay safe and sober undies!

Beer at sporting events (and food, too!) is always overpriced, anyway. Good for you!

Rain stopped play for a while so I'm having a coffee break.

Siesta, it's very windy here too, plus heavy rain showers and hailstones too. That sounds like a lovely night you had last night with your husband, what's even better is you'll be able to remember it all.

Very true,Gilmer, it always is.

Gxx

Bocce is fun, BuddinK. i haven't played in years. A lot of backyard games flourished when I was a kid, but you don't seem to see them anymore. Whatever happened to croquet, for instance? I never cared if I won or lost--I just loved sending other people's balls far away! I used to be great at volleying in backyard badminton! I could return anything! i was quite pleased with myself. Till in high school we played real badminton by the rules, and I realized you had to keep it within strict bounds. Plus, when i was engaged I was eager to show off to my fiance (now husband) how great I was. I returned his serve--then he kept smashing them right in front of the net! He demolished me! So my little bubble of badminton supremacy was burst forever. It was years before we had a yard. But now that we do, we don't do anything with it. I haven't even seen badminton or croquet sets sold anyplace. (I'm really awful at volleyball--and all other sports, for that matter. Backyard badminton was my only glimpse of glory).

One time i was on a church retreat. People were playing volleyball outside, and i stayed inside. Then i went on the porch. My pastor spotted me and called out, "Kathy! Come on down!" So I reluctantly went and joined his team. Soon it was my time to serve, and i accidentally hit him in the head (the serve did not make it over the net). Right then and there he switched to the other team--then he and this other guy just kept serving over and over right to me (the weak spot) so they could rack up the points!

Have I mentioned i put up with a lot of nonsense? :-)

Still here on Day 133...Had a good day off even though I only had 2 hours sleep...The reason I didn't have much sleep after my night shift is because my 15 month old daughter had to have her jabs today and the wife doesn't like doing them so I do them...After that I decided I would go and treat her so I went and spent £70 on a new toy pram and a new baby doll for her to play with....Feels great to be earning money again so I can spoil my kids, this would never be possible if I had continued to carry on drinking....Just had take away for dinner and then I gotta go take my son to his karate lesson...Then I can get home and finally jump into my bed for a proper sleep....Day off again tomorrow and that is gonna be spent taking the wife out shopping....Hope everyone is well....Take care....Steve..

ok guys here goes----I'm suppose to go to a casino this Sat. night with my husband and 5-7- other couples. It's a Birthday Party and the casino is out of town so, we will be staying over night. Yipes---I've been with this crowd before and have not drank but, I'm and I mean the only one who does not drink!!! I have to go. and I'm pretty sure I can handle this---I've come 46 days today and I don't want to blow it. The girls I will be with are a lot of fun and i know (trust me) wont' let me go to my room till the fat lady sings. I just want to get this off my chest cause I know i can handle this. I'm just venting so, now, I will have to prove myself for sure. thanks for listening----OH lordy it's going to be a long Sat. night. but, I will do this.

Keep excusing yourself if need be and go to your room and check into SR! Give us updates and tell us how it's going. Does your husband drink?

yes, but, he had a heart attack a year ago and has very little to drink now. He use to drink me under the table or should i say it was a tie at times. so, this has been a real change for the both of us. I won't have my lap top with me as I only have this thread at work. Thank you for the support Golmer

It's good that your husband won't be into the guzzling spirit of the place.

I know Gilmer and to top things off there is a bar with a live band. and this crowd likes to dance and play hard. But, I can do this. My husband will tire out and go to the room cause some of the guys would rather party in a room.

Glad your tooth is feeling OK, HD3! Fortunately, we were just rainy today and not snowy, but the sun has come out. Spring has definitely sprung, and I'm lovin' it!

Babs my only advise which is given a lot around here is = have a plan. I was at my 133rd day and had a slip - just last weekend. If I had had any kind of plan at all - even if just to go outside and distract myself for a moment when I was about to pour the glass of wine - I'm pretty sure I would have been OK but I got lazy and complacent. Good luck - sounds like you have it under control.

HD3 - have fun out an about and a great meeting.

Nel That's terrible. Flooding can cause so much damage and definitely lots of work. Hope you get dried out soon.
