Did *not* use the excuse of my daughter being away from home all day until 7 pm to start drinking wine in the morning, putter around sipping all afternoon, sleeping it off and then driving to pick her up with a small amount of alcohol still in me.
Instead, went back to bed this morning simply because my body was exhausted (something I rarely do sober or drunk), slept well, went to starbucks instead of for wine, spent lots of time reading on SR, made a nice sober dinner for my family and picked up my girl completely sober. Went in the hot tub with her after dinner and really talked with her. Listened to her play her violin (very well too). But ate chocolate and peanut butter (which of course I didn't do while drinking.) But all in all, a net 90% positive. Now if I could just get rid of the emotional eating things would be much better!!

Babs, thanks for asking.
Just some test results, something I can try to improve or medication. Just had to ignore my thoughts of "wine" might help. What a ridiculous thought, not really for me though. In the past anything was a reason to drink. Feeling better now

Today I went to a new, very hard exercise class. Tallked to my sponsor (finally back from being out of town), read the Big Book, did housework and took good care of my daughter. Really mourning the critical condition of Randy Travis, one of my favorite singers of all time.
And sadly, an alcoholic. Three times a week I drive right by the Heart Hospital that he is at.

I had a sudden deep disappointment today and didn't drink. I made a plan and cried it out and vented to trusted people. As opposed to giving up, drinking and isolating and hating myself and my life.
