Slept in until 11.

I used to always be passed out way too early to stay up late enough to be able to sleep in so late!

Took the kids to the cinema after school then ate a huge KFC afterwards.. Couldn't stand cinemas before as it dug into my drinking time.

Had a good cry, and then felt better after! Didn't bury my head in the sand today when I easily could have... pushed through some depression that hit me hard, sipping on coffee, reading, getting chores done.

This one reminds me of all the movies I didn't remember watching... I was in the habit of starting a movie or documentary on Netflix while "sipping" my wine... and then it must have been days or weeks later, I'd come upon some movie that caught my eye, and realize... it's already in my instant queue... and then I'd have this vague recollection... oh wow, I'd already watched it... but sadly, I only remember maybe the first 20 min of each movie!! So many times this happened!! It's kind of funny, and ridiculous.

Sunday

morning

went to church sober

in the old days if I had my early morning Sunday drink

I would not go to church

afternoon

just did some sober plumbing here at the house

it all went good since I was seeing straight

if I was drinking I would have probably put it off for another week

or two

or three

No way could I still be drinking and do that. Kettle Bell Swings while either drunk or whatever-no WAY!

Today at church during Communion, I took the grape juice instead of the wine, LOL. It was kind of an "oh crap!" moment; I hadn't even thought about it. Not that 1 tablespoon of wine would do any harm, but why chance it?

Do you know I have never mowed the lawn in my life? I went from living at home where my dad did the mowing, to being married, and my husband has always mowed. Now my teenage son mows too. So I probably never will mow!

Since today is my first day of sobriety, I didn't do much of anything - except NOT DRINK. That's worth the world. I love this thread, read the whole thing today - that's another thing I wouldn't have done while drinking. I can't wait to start feeling physically better so I can post more exciting things I accomplish that I couldn't have done while drinking.
