Name 1 thing you did today.. that you would NOT have done when you drank 2
This morning, I ate breakfast and took my vitamins with it. I never would have done that when I was drinking. Lunch was the first meal of the day or maybe occasionally brunch and frequently my first drink came before that.
Scrubbed the nasty rusty outdoor barbeque until it was nice. Weather is beautiful and BBQ season is coming. Since I was off today, I would have been in my bedroom drinking in the dark obsessing about suicide yet too cowardly to commit it.
I woke up happy to be alive. I savored my cup of coffee (without vodka!). Played piano without sloppy drunk fingers. Did yoga without losing my balance (mostly), the after effects of alcohol hinder my balance, even after 4 months sober.
I was up till like midnight last night doing chores and cleaning the house!
It's funny because drinking is supposed to be about staying up late and partying, or at least that's the image they want you to have, but at the end, I was passed-out by somewhere between 8-10 most nights.

Went out with a realtor to look at downsize options. Felt discouraged and scared as I remembered wherever you go, there you are. Realized I still have a lot of obstacles ahead and now some new ones I didn't even know about.
And didn't drink.
And didn't drink.
I cooked a big casserole last night so I will have good food for a few meals. Plan to continue to do this.
Before, I'd just grab some fast food/junk on my way home from my nightly trip to the liquor store. Eat mindlessly in front of the TV till I'd pass out.
Last night, I actually set the table and ate there. Haven't done that in years!
