Name 1 thing you did today.. that you would NOT have done when you drank 2
After locking up the house, wore clean pajamas to bed ...on a bed whose sheets were changed today.... and after I brushed my teeth and washed my face.
As opposed to, when I was drinking:
Passing out IN my clothes, downstairs on the recliner, with the doors unlocked, and maybe one even partly open...

I didn't have to hide a bottle of wine in my shopping cart from my teenager. I was able to walk away from a sticky situation with my husband without causing a scene infront of my toddler. HE was the one yelling as I walked out the door.
I would not have gone out and taken photos of the city lights last night. I would not have gone downtown to a cafe this morning. I would not have gone for a walk in the park today. I would not be here posting on SR.
I noticed tonight when i used it, my toaster was hot. The cord. The plug. The whole thing. I need a new one. That one is unsafe.
If I drank I wouldn't have ever noticed and I'd just have kept using it until I set the house a fire.
Because, when I drank, my smoke alarms didnt work.
I just got new ones last month and installed them.
The list just goes on and on....

Wrote a poem instead of drinking when I felt bad.
Had a place reserved for the weekend and when I got there, it was a s***hole. I just left after looking the place over and drove to find a nicer place. Used to be I would have just started drinking until it seemed nicer or I was drunk enough not to care.
