Class of January 2013
I'd like to say hello to the class of January 2013 and applaud all of you for the decision you've made.
I'm from the class of January 2012 and just completed one year of uninterrupted sobriety. generally it gets easier as the sober days add up. lots of emotions to deal with that were masked by the alcohol. some possible insomnia and daytime fatigue.
it will all pass...you just have to trust yourself and love yourself and guard your sobriety from anyone and any situation that would threaten it.
please go to the doctor if you feel you have physical withdrawal symptoms. don't play around with that.
and best of luck.
and NEL68, I'm especially proud of you for not giving up.

Oh wow. So many people to keep up with. Hi everyone.
Day 2 for me. Still feeling very foggy and have lots of pain. The neck pain I've had for years has come back with a vengeance. Also pain under my left ribcage.
Oh well, life must go on.
I hope everyone is having a good day.

I'm back and I'm in.
Hi Dee!
I quit in May of 2012 but started drinking again "in moderation" after 63 days. I thought I could be a "normal" drinker, and I justified that conclusion by drinking less than I used to drink for quite a few months, but I was apparently delusional because here I am, back again.
I liked Obladi's quote "2012 was about trying, 2013 will be about doing." Right on!
I'm very motivated to stay sober, and even more inspired after reading the last 7 pages of posts from this class.
I'm happy to be with you all!

Thursday!!! Woo, hoo!!! So glad to see you back on SR, girlfriend. I was missing you!
Congrats on joining the January class. I wish you and everyone in January the biggest and best sober strength. Feel free to stop by in the May 2012 class for extra support, too.
Love and hugs to all.

I'm in. I was sober for several years then threw it all away last October. Since then it has been one unsuccessful attempt after another. Hopefully I have finally learned the lesson. I can't drink at all.
I have a couple more hours before day one is over for me. Withdrawal so far has been blessedly mild with a little anxiety at times and a little shaking in the hands. Hope tonight won't be too bad.
Best wishes to all.

I started Christmas, but I still want in! Stayed sober for 90 days last year and then fell right back into old habits (including drinking). Just becuase Congress can't get their act together doesn't mean I can't! Best wishes to everyone!
JimJim, I have shared those feelings of despondence. I know you can do this because I was here for it when you succeeded day after day while I continued to trip over myself. Today is different than the days prior because you came here to post. I'm rooting for you and all of the rest of us.
