What a fun read the above is! It's not even 6am and now I want curry and thai iced tea - is that fair? LOL

DD - how was your night out with your friends? Wondering minds want to know [-:

11 weeks. Who'd a thunk it. Very happy to head to work sober as a board and happy about the day. I'm sure without the love and support I get from my friends here the outcome would have been much different. You all mean so much to me - thank you, thank you, thank you. T

Night out : Went to lively wine bar, this time found 2 hours more than enough, there was some proper drunk people in there, they looked a bit stupid. Much better after we left and went for curry, but good golly I feel great today ! Saturday 7am up for jog, papers and home for coffee, going to put a bit of collar ( work ) in today.

Of recent I find working at weekends makes things a lot easier for me, I can work anyday any hour so it suits me.

Be lucky all and have a great weekend. 79 days today woo hoo

Just wanted to pop in and give a shout out to my fellow New Years Resolutioners...congrats on 3 months tomorrow!!! Somehow this feels like a real milestone, I'm loving being sober right now
Enjoying everyone's slang banter. Don't know any British slang, really neat to read about the origination of the terms.
Have a great, sober weekend all, and remember not to be a "fool" tomorrow, that's soooooo last year

Had a frustrating day, grrr. Spent my day off doing our income taxes and found out we owe! After we changed our withholding last year, took home less money and still owe? Maddening. But, big but, my husband and I both have good jobs and I'm very thankful for that. My kids, all college grads, can't find jobs, 2 are living at home, 1 is teaching part time on an island in the north Atlantic. It's discouraging for them. Sorry for the venting!

On a bright note, today is 90 days for me, and I'm happy about that. It feels good not to drink wine over every little problem and aggravation on my life. I may not be happy, happy, but I'm not drunk either.

This will be a New Years Resolution I actually keep!!

The only Hillbilly I know is this, but can still sing it by heart 45 years after the series ended, and I have never seen an episode again (sadly not rerun here for some reason )

Good morning, everyone. 90 days is a huge accomplishment, so congratulations! I'll see you there in less than a week.

Against pretty much all the common advice about making major life changes, I've started a new relationship in early sobriety. We've been out only a handful of times and I've been nervous about how my lack of drinking would be perceived. After all, the last thing I really want to disclose early on in the dating process is that less than ninety days ago I was a raging alcoholic who had completely lost control!

You know what? Three dates, all of them in places where drinking was happening all around us, and it's never come up. It amazes me to watch her drink or not drink, depending on her mood, without ever going overboard. It just helps reinforce that "normal" people don't obsess over alcohol like I do/did.

Anyway, I'm happy to wake up to yet another hangover-free sober Sunday. Hope all is well with the rest of you!

Hi NBC , a soberlicious Sunday to you. Sipping Green tea on a sunny day after having been out on my pushbike for the first time in 6 years. I did have to take it to the menders for quite an overhaul, but it is running better than Iremember, and I could get into my cycle gear

Hi Done D, I told my gf about my drinking a few months in to the relationship, she was shocked, but took it in her stride. Since doing that not drinking has been much easier. However, I cant say when it works for anyone else.

Keep up the good work Nel!

Billy, you are a riot! Have you seen Larry the Cable Guy(comedian)? I live amongst those kinds of folks. But I'm no hillbilly! City girl turned country.

I should be at 90 days but didn't keep my New Years Resolution, took me 2 more weeks of relapsing to finally get it. But whatever, I DID FINALLY GET IT!!!
Yay!
