I can't wait to get to a year. Being sober is starting to feel real to me, like I don't even WANT to drink. When I think about actually drinking, it just seems like a huge waste of time. I think my brain is getting better at blocking the AV.

Early night tonight, want to get LOOOOTS of sleep.

We'll miss you Manz and see you on the other side! Keep some seats on the bench for us and in the meantime we'll get some Undies ready to keep this thread strong.

I went to a party Saturday night where there was a lot of booze, nice wine & plentiful expensive vodka. I accidentally took a swig of the host's gin and tonic, thinking it was my seltzer. I was standing in the kitchen so I spit it out. The important thing is that my brain said, "YUCK!"

A guest at the party wound up convincing three others to go out to a bar after the party because she hadn't had enough fun yet. She got roaring drunk and had to be taken home and cared for. There but for the grace of God and SR and the Light go I.

Happy Monday!

Frances,

Good for your brain in creating a firewall to booze.

Morning Undies...

Happy Birthday Martin Luther King, not for the US MLK Day holiday today, but, for being such an inspiration to so many!

So many on here have been following his core message...yes, sobriety has us having dreams of the future...again. Thanks SR!

Manz, thanks for such a wonderful post, those experiences and feelings from you family day are so well deserved...an inspiration, indeed!

So proud of you Manz! See you in a few months.

Me, I made it to 9 months today. 9 months ago I was laying in a hospital fighting for my life. I then was in rehab for 6.5 months. Still have my struggles but I'm alive and clean today.

pretty stressed IP - I've been doing two jobs this week - one here and one in real life - frankly I overestimated myself....but everything should be back to normal soon

Hi All...

Dee, I caught the overestimating bug myself these past couple weeks. Stress was building...(work, volunteer work, remodeling, exercise, bad weekend with my Dad's advancing Alzheimer's), so, i've been working on stress reduction since my therapy session on wed aft.

She, my therapist, is totally sold on this EFT (emotional freedom technique). While a bit bizarre, it does seem to help....give it a google, if you dare, and tap away.

Talk soon...Carlos

Good to hear Dee. I'm working on homework now and feeling a lot better than yesterday. Was spazzing a bit.
Have a good day everybody.
