Hi everyone! MJ Northland, congrats!
Another long day at work but I feel pretty good. Lot's of big motorcades in DC for the visit of Hu Jintao. I never stop being excited about that kind of stuff, it's part of what I love about living in DC.
Day 32 coming to a close. Hard to believe. Hope everyone is well, wow part three of this thread.

The first months the hardest, but the addiction will use time to its advantage to try and trick us to drink.
For example, "I'm not an alcoholic, I just went an entire month without drinking. "
That's not us talking, that's the addict in us talking. We need to tell the addict to shut up and let our sober voice do the talking.

Are any of you guys getting chips? I was so proud of my 30 and then my 60 day chips. Never made it to 90 but the good news is...there is always that possibility again!!
Back home safe and sound. My dogs and kiddo are happy to see me. All is okay.
Hugs,
Soph

Welcome Natasha!
Soph - I don't recall them handing out chips last night and hadn't even thought about it until you said something. Wonder why they didn't or maybe I missed it?
There's a winter storm moving this way and I soooo wanted to stop for a couple of bottles of wine on the way home from work this evening. One of my favorite liquor stores is right next to the grocery store I stopped at....the liquor store folks are probably wondering where I am!
But, here I sit with sugar free ginger ale instead.
Part three! We got it goin' on.... Woohoo for us

Thanks grandf...and Betterlife...maybe there are some meetings who don't do chips but most do...In fact I got my 60 day chip at a meeting I had never attended. I just really, really wanted that chip and my sponsor was out of town. So I just looked up meetings online in my area, saw one that fit my schedule, went, and at the end when they were asking "does anyone have 30 days, does anyone have 6o days?" I stood up and said my name and said I had 60 days today. And they all cheered and clapped and I went and got the chip and a big hug. It was fantastic!! I loved that moment. A room full of strangers I had never seen in my life were cheering for me.
PS Sugar free ginger ale ensures no HANGOVERS!!!

Hey guys, it's cool to be here on Part 3!
Heading out right now to see one of my favorite bands playing at a great venue... that also happens to be a bar. Fear not, though. I promise to do all you Decemberistas proud!

I'm not in AA. The only chips I'm getting are the greasy ones that make you fat LOL

Ready, what's the band? I am bad at finding good music, and love recommendations. I have always hated live music...partially because I got too drunk and wandered around kind of bored and uncomfortable. Maybe I will get back out again...I was finding things like plays & live music in the paper today. Lots of good things to look forward to. I can even drive home afterward! I can bring my kids to a show and drive home afterward! That might be pushing it...
I am proud of you all, really proud. I am starting to think about God's plan for me, and it is a big relaid to think "Maybe I don't have to manage everything for everyone.". An enormous relief...laying that down.
Night all!

I was going to post a photo of chip and dip but...I was afraid it would be the Photo that Ate Manhattan! You know me and posting photos!
So there went my wry chip and dip photo idea. Oh well.
Home, sober, cuddling with dog, hoping I have not brought bedbugs back with me in my luggage or clothes! (it's all over the news.)
Dee - how is your neck of the woods? Drying out? Geez...
