ok... substance! The song "Puff the Magic Dragon" has managed to send me into a complete tailspin. Sobbing for a half hour, what is wrong with me?? Among the wide variety of hysteria-inducing thoughts:
1. Mary is dead now so they can never sing the song together again! Why can't we hold onto moments for longer?
2. I was a terrible granddaughter when my grandma had a stroke and was an invalid for two years
3. There's someone who I'm really, devastatingly sad I didn't get to know in the 60s and 70s (...when I wasn't born yet)
I am all over the map and not even a drop to drink! Hoping that a good night's sleep calms me down.

sometimes a song, a movie or whatever...just triggers a whole series of memories unrelated that we have pain over....
Just cry and aknowledge the pain...honor it....it deserves to be recognized cause there isn't anyother way to go on....
I'm sorry you're hurting, butwhen I learned to cry real tears over that crap....it left me room to fill it with some joy....afterall..we had some joy that is what lead to the pain...after I cry out the pain..i find the joy that is hidden underneath it...
Sorry soppy moment...and i'm even having a nasty bad mood this morning lol

Hi all,
How is everyone doing? I've had kind of a weird weekend (boys, close your ears, this will be TMI!). Yesterday I got a random bladder infection. I spent a couple of hours at the urgent care clinic and got some antibiotics (sulfa). It was going okay at first, but today I was super nauseous and felt lightheaded and generally sh*tty the whole day. I called the advice nurse and she said none of my symptoms were the sign of an allergic reaction so I shouldn't worry about it... but then of course I started looking into everything that could go wrong and now I've convinced myself that I have all of those symptoms... curse my paranoid spirit! Apparently they can show up even after you're done with the course.
God how I HATE drugs! Hate them hate them hate them! If there was a reliable, non-drug way to get rid of an infection I would be all over it.
*sigh* done venting now. :rotfxko

Hey November 2008, how's it going over here? It's been a while since I dropped in to say hi.
Congratulations on keeping your thread active. I was thinking our threads from '08 are still good but we might also want to try a combined 2008 thread too since we've all been at this for about the same amount of time. Just started it up over here if anyone wants to give it a shot. Thx,

Thanks JIT, I like this idea!
Today is day 58 for me. This is significant because 58 days is the longest sobriety I've ever had, just over a year ago - tomorrow I will be entering unchartered territory. Luckily I can't be drinking over the next few days anyway because I'm still on those damned antibiotics! I don't think the drunk me even bothered to read drug interaction warnings, or if I did I just ignored them. Scary!
