Hi Guys, Just got an e-mail from my Dad. My mom isn't doing well. She's retaining a lot of fluid and her feet are swollen so that she can't put her shoes on. The medicine they gave her didn't help. Now my Dad isn't sure if they'll make it out in a couple of weeks.
They live in Texas. I haven't seen them in 3 years. I worry about them all the time out there. What would cause someone to retain fluid anyway?

Sorry to hear about your Mom Barb. What part of Texas do they live in? I think you told me Abilene. Maybe they can give her a diuretic and that will help.
Hubby and I slept in today. He was tired and went into work late.
It is starting to rain now. I was going to go to a NA meeting at noon. But have now changed my mind.
No cheesecake left. But the chocolate was FANTASTIC! Let me know if you want the recipe. I think I could go into business and sell those suckers!

Thanks Everyone.
My mother is doing much better today. She's taking more medicine and the Dr. said she should be all right to fly out from Texas in June to see us. I'm excited and nervous about seeing my parents. It's been 3 years. It just dawned on me that the last time they were here I was still drinking. So I'll be sober this time when they come. I won't have my crutch this time when they come. A lot of bad history with my Father and me. I plan on going to a lot of meetings when their here.
frstnm - I PM you about the game site. I'm not Scaredykat over there. I'm Bbypets.
Believe- That was fun talking to you over there. LOL Yeah, I have a friend over there. We'll have to figure out how to do challenges over there if you want.

had my coffee in the garden this morning. now i gotta' ice some cupcakes and make deviled eggs - going to a bbq today and those were my cooking assignments
i sure have made a lot of cupcakes and deviled eggs in this lifetime.
mr k is sleeping in. so it's very quiet this morning. nice!

Beautiful day here, don't know how I'm going to spend it tho, feeling rather unmotivated right now... A nice walk with the dogs for sure, but other than that, I don't have a clue and don't feel like doing much.
i'm a real crappy nurse.

Will be busy all day today getting things ready for my trip to NH tomorrow. I'm dreading what I"ll find when I come home on Monday tho as the kids don't pick up after themselves when I'm here so I'm expecting to find the place a wreck.... just like it is now.
