I know this is not my forum and I know I am the only one but I think it was better with all these threads in teh Newcomers forum

Seems to me there is far less support for Newcomers now, especially from members with some time up.

No more whines, on with the day
I agree...and i am guilty as charged I tend to come to the support threads first and get stuck there...when they were all together I would pay more attention...know it's my problem...but just sayin.....

I don't think anyone can change avatars right now, it's one of the features that cannot be turned back on until all the wrinkles are out of the new update/

Be patient, it won't be long.

I think the Zipperman has started an "Avatar Withdraw" special meeting here at Whiners. I can feel him fidgeting all the way to Canada

Okay, okay, so I am fidgeting too. A lesson in patience is all we need.

Well it seems that the people who volunteer to fix all this stuff have real jobs and real lives that require attention sometimes and leave them tired at the end of the day. Patience Mr. Z. Before you know it, you'll be better than new

I've had my coffee now and my eyes and ears are working. Hugs to everyone, I think I sounded snippy and that's not my style

But I do have a whine this morning...Plow Guy has disappeared and all that is left is Queeny and a shovel. King Bubba is giving it a go, but it's a queen size job and I'm on cleanup duty. It's all good, nothing some fine dining at dinner can't fix.

I think the mods have put a lot of thought, time, and work into this effort.

And it takes time for things to adjust.

I didn't know how much I depended on SR for my daily support until it went down

for the day until I tried to log on at the usual time. I admit..I freaked out a tad.

Even emailed a CEO! *Lol* He was gracious to mail me back immediately and

assure me I wasn't zapped out..it was the forum. I had to actually do something

different. It didn't frighten me, it just made me realize something.

SR is a mainstay of my own sobriety. On a regular basis.

Sharing with newcomers is important..carrying the message..the 12th Step..

But it has to be a result of something I already have..

For me, it is face to face meetings..working my Steps..with a sponsor.

Reading..and practicing the principles in all my affairs.

You see..I can't give something away I haven't got...

Living with and caring for my aged disabled mom means I am extremely limited

in getting out a lot. SR is a lifesaver!!!!!!!

I suppose my whine is...any negative comments about SR or members!

Thanks

And I want to change my avatar too..I am tired of being likened to a catastrophic

hurricane. My conscience has really been bothering me about it, gang.

So much destruction..and friends here suffered too.

I'll try to come up with something better soon and get help changing it...

Hmmmmmn...I love my avatar, and wouldn't think of changing it. But, I do like to change my signature pretty regularly...especially for the holidays...as you can see.

I know, the day the upgrade was going on, I sat here, looking at my laptop, thinking "now, what do I do?!?!" Felt pretty lost! I was out of town, the next couple of days, so missed some of the glitches but was in major withdrawal by the time I got back on SR!

It's COLD here. Hello? I live in GA? It's not supposed to be 18 degrees in the morning when I come home! We southern belle's don't DO cold weather!

You definitely weren't the only one...Anvil and I were e-mailing each other, and were BOTH almost in a panic mode over not having SR

This is a little more than a whine, but I wondered what you all thought. I got an email from Capital One bank, obviously a phishing scam. In the email was an link to use to update my records. It looked like the same address I use when I make a payment online, so I was curious and clicked on it. Up came a form to fill out-which of course I didn't - but here's my question. I happened to notice what was in the address bar after I clicked on the fake Capital One site. It was the address of a Girlscout troop in England (Girlguides, actually.) What could this possibly mean? Could someone in their organization be doing the phishing? I want to report it, but don't know to who. Thanks!
