Bedtime Gratitude ~ Part 52
Grateful for a clean kitchen at night. I used to always wait till morning to clean it.

Grateful I didn't lose my cool with a couple customers yesterday over false alarms. Grateful I had a little time to spend with the youth group at the church painting their student center. Grateful I had some free time to tidy up the yard.
Grateful the feeling of "unease" I felt earlier has passed
Grateful for calm tea
Grateful I settled for a bowl of cottage cheese with frozen blueberries & almonds instead of going to buy ice cream

Grateful I try to practice this bit from the St. Francis prayer. I used to feel so misunderstood, tried so hard to "make" myself understood. Glad I know it's not only BETTER to understand others, it always seems a lot easier to be understanding of others than to explain MY side and get my point across!

eddie, now that makes sense!!!
Grateful for a laid back day. Grateful a friend worked for me tonight, I just didn't feel like going in tonight. Grateful I get to rest when I need it.
Grateful for my sobriety.

Grateful for the taste of rich hot chocolate. Grateful to myself for making healthy food choices today. Grateful for the motivation to stay on task at work. For when I am able to see challenges and mistakes as lessons and opportunities for growth. For a place to live and shower and comfortable place to sleep with blankets. For 244 sober days. For access to healthy food, especially salad greens. To harvest bitter escarole from seeds I planted, and eat for lunch. Grateful for my early morning ritual of checking the 'daily reflections' 'each day a new beginning' and '24 hours a day.' So grateful to be part of the recovery community!
