I am thankful for ....

- my children

- my gratitude practice, and the positivity that spirals from it

- SR & AA

- my sober friends

- my non-sober friends, who are pretty great too

- the gorgeous weather today

- realizing I'm taking wishy-washy approach to diet and exercise

- being nervous about my first day at a new job

- my anxiety & phobias. Today has been a "good" day, but for the previous few days I've been highly affected by it.

I am thankful for ...

- my children

- being more organized in the morning before the kids go to school

- crossfit for pushing me past my comfort zone

- my coach noticing my personal best during the workout today. I'm not able to do the fully prescribed workout, but him noticing my progress towards it lit up my morning.

- feeling uncomfortable receiving compliments

- my intuition telling me when a person feels unsafe

- my conflicted emotions over going back to work: nervous, hopeful, embarrassed, excited, nonvalued, and relieved to be downsized.

- sticking with my plan to work at engaging with my friends more frequently to ward off isolation and depression

I am thankful for ...

- my children

- recovery

- friends

- laughter

- connecting with people around me

- offering help to a friend and meaning it, as evidenced by willingness to go out of my way expecting absolutely nothing in return. I used to do this all the time, but lost it over the past several years

- the great big hug given to me by a kind coworker

- putting forth my best effort at work and being recognized for my ability to do my job well, across all age groups.

I am thankful for ...

- my children

- my coworkers, who I look forward to seeing every day, which I so deeply appreciate after last year's toxic work enviornment.

- the clarity I'm finding in my personal life from working with my sponsor.

- the discomfort resulting from the clarity.

- not seeking to numb the discomfort. I don't want to waste any more time feeling miserable. My discomfort is propelling me towards acting upon my higher power's will, towards happy destiny. Thy will not mine be done.

- my higher power for waiting for the right moment to introduce my sponsor into my life. There's something extremely familiar about her. And me to her. We both feel something spiritual is at work.

- my friends in recovery and outside recovery.

- the AA chapter "Acceptance Was The Answer"

- anxiety attacks
