Grateful for the sheer love and encouragement shown by the posters on this thread - I'm so proud to call you friends

Grateful for having the courage to attend my first-ever counselling session yesterday - and grateful to the counsellor for being so understanding and supportive

Grateful that I don't have to venture out today - it sure is wild out there!

Grateful for some new friends I am slowly making. Grateful for some slow, but wonderful changes in my life. Grateful they make the hard times a little easier to get through. Grateful I can remember in His time, not mine.

As a newly sober person, I'm so grateful waking up everyday without a hangover. I'm just amazed at the difference it makes. Also, I'm grateful I don't need eye drops anymore.

Grateful to wake up when the alarm went off and get straight up.
Grateful to b able to start chatting straight away without groaning or hanging onto my head or stomach.
Grateful to suddenly realise it's been like this for ages now.

I turn 52 in a few months and had my last drink a few months before turning fifty.
And I wouldn't count me out for anything yet!! Lol.

gratitude

Grateful for the love and warmth on SR gratitude threads on a day when the snow is piling up and everything is closed outside while I have the internet on the inside.

Grateful that I have fallen in love with my new food craze: green smoothies.
Grateful even more for the laugh I get when I think of me a year ago facing a green smoothie first thing in the morning.
Grateful for sobriety and it's ongoing gifts.

I am grateful that I woke up this morning, without a hangover, and without having to worry what I did last night because I was not drinking. I am grateful I don't have to check my body for new bruises; check my emails/fb for embarrassing messages; and I don't have to avert my eyes when people look at me today. I am grateful for a second day sober.

Altho I'm awake in the middle of the night, at least it's not because I'm going thru withdrawal.

Happy Valentine's Day SR

Grateful for snow and cold which provides an excuse to stay home with my wife and best friend for the last 35 years. Grateful for our programs of recovery which teach us how to live one day at a time and help each of us to sustain our 3rd marriage after marriages to 2 other people. Grateful for our beautiful blended family of 6 children, 17 grandchildren, and 8 Great grandchildren. Grateful for the love of family, friends, and all of you wonderful SR loved ones. Happy Valentines' Day SR
