Bedtime Gratitude Part 9
I had lunch with my mom today - almost 80 years old!
She told me that as a person gets older, you become content, more grateful for the important things in life...just happy to see your kids, to see another Christmas. She was joking about people she hears complaining about Christmas - "I'm too busy! It's nothing but a huge cost!"
Mom's pretty cool!
It really is good to be here!

Grateful to be feeling better.
Grateful for progress, not perfection.
Grateful to see the progress in myself & people I love.
Grateful to see, and accept the 'not perfection' in myself and those same others.

So Grateful...
...for my home, dogs, fiance, and family. Grateful I still have a job I absolutely LOVE! So grateful for every sober moment... no hangovers, extra cash in my wallet... grateful I never got a DUI.
Grateful for SR and the new friends I've made here.
Day 16! Whoot!

Day 16! Whoot!
I noticed a few names here at SR that I had not seen for a while, people that joined this community about the same time I did. There are also people in my meetings who slipped but are back with us. It takes courage, to not give up.
I am really grateful for everyone in recovery...day 1 or day 10,000...some of the strongest people I know.

Go Nikky!!!
The 12 steps changed my life...the promises are real! Keep it simple, do your best.
Takes some work and patience but the results are incredible. I don't want a drink, I don't need a drink. Alcohol could never make me feel as good as I feel today.
