My AD and 16-year-old granddaughter in jail...
(((DeVon))) - so glad that she's being removed from her mom, and agree...hope the lovely jumpsuit and "special bracelets" were enough to keep her from doing anything to get back into them.
Totally understand about the NC with your daughter. There comes a time when enough is enough, and one too many lines have been crossed, and I think you are at that point.
Keeping you and family in my prayers.
Hugs and prayers,
Amy

In Illinois 31grams of pot or more is a felony. The amount she had is very serious. They will catch her previous drug conviction. Pinning it on her own daughter is unbelievable. I have heard many horrible stories over the years but that is a new low.

They are so lucky to have You in recovery! This reminds me of the Tower card in Tarot. Huge cataclysmic, unpleasant crises that clears the unstable foundation for a new beginning. Great chance for recovery when people go to jail...a real bottom for many.
But I know you are worried...it is something I have to work at 247. Sending my prayers to you and all.

The way an addicted brain works still amazes me. I'll bet she tried to pin it on her daughter because she's a minor and this would be a first offense so they'd let her off easier. She probably even quickly convinced her daughter to take the rap and laid a nice big guilt trip on her on what would happen if she didn't.
Reminds me of a line in an Offspring song "If you're under 18 you won't be doing any time." I hate that song. I think it was my son's personal anthem when he was a teenager. It's hard to believe that a mother would throw her own child under the bus but the "you won't be doing any time" thing was probably what was ringing in her head.
Hopefully some time in a healthier environment will allow your GD to get her own life sorted out. This is a new beginning for her. AND it will be easier for you to spend time with her and can perhaps you will be able to provide some gentle (and experienced)guidance.
I hope you slept well last night. You and your family will be in my prayers.
gentle hugs

Hail. Hail the gangs all here!
Ok, I freely admit, I am old...what are the green goggles on your new avatar? Or,are these not goggles?
Maybe I need new contacts..or need to move from Florida as I have goggles on my mind.
