His Name was Richard and he was an Alcoholic
I'm so sorry for this loss. It is such a loss and such a hole in the universe. He was an alcoholic but now that he's gone, it is so obvious that we all matter. He loved you and you loved him. Even now, you see him glorified, the old Richard, the bashful flirt. Handsome and healthy. He would be very happy to know you remember the best about him, that there was a best. I'm so sorry for your pain, just remember he loved you too. It was a disease.

I have always admired how you were able to love him, even if it was from afar at times, all the while understanding that he was dealing with something far greater than him. I'm so sorry to hear of this.

I'm so sorry FDM. I can't imagine what you must be feeling. Wow ...
We never know what life has around the corner, do we? This reminds me of the saying, "Live each day as if it were your last dance on earth". Wow again. I'm shocked for you.

Since first coming to SR, I have read far too many of these posts. It is a grim reminder of the seriousness of addiction and how, sadly, many never recover.
I'm so sorry for your pain. ((((()))))

A tragic reminder
I am saddened by your loss, Alcoholism takes the best of us. Richard reminds me that some of us only find permanent recovery when we leave our physical body. I believe he, as well as all the others that went before have rejoined the sacred realm, he is free today. May God bless you and keep you safe unil you join him.
Alcohol is a cruel mistress!!!

Oh Jill, I am so sorry. As hard as it may be try to keep in mind that in death there is peace. His earthly suffering is over and he is flying with the angels, pain free, worry free, as care free as someone can be. He is being rocked and cared for by his father, God. Remember all the good times and the wonderful person he was. Hugs out to you!!! I know from your many posts over the years that this has been a long haul for u both~~~ May he rest in peace!!!!!!!!
Jill,
I haven't posted in awhile, but I knew from the title of your thread that I would have to break my silence.
I am so very sorry to hear this. My heart goes out to you and for all of the pain you must be feeling right now. I hope in time the memories of happier days you and Richard shared will keep you warm and help you to heal.
I'll be thinking of you, and of Richard, fondly in the days to come.

FD, I am so sorry to hear this. Loosing the love of your life is very painful and I am so sorry you have to expereince this. Richard knew you loved him very much...In your last conversation, although you may not have said it aloud, his heart heard it.
Your story of Richard touched me deeply, thank you for taking the time even in your sadness and pain, to let us see this man you love so. Sending healing thoughts and prayers of comfort. I am praying for Richard too, but truly believe his pain is over and he is in a better place. I hope you will continue to share your thoughts here and to allow us to surround you with support. Hugs and prayers
