Back to Life Weekender 15 - 18 Dec
Dee has allowed me to write the opening post this week as a guest so let me start by thanking him and also Weasel1966 who, along with Mecanix, started and curated this thread for some years. Big Shoes.
For some of us, weekdays still provide some sort of structure - commute, work, chores etc Even for those whom this is not the case the weekend still magnifies our drinking or drugging habits, even fewer reasons to hold us back from our addiction
Starting with Friday evenings eager anticipation it will end with Monday morning arriving, unbidden, like the Grim Reapers very own Sergeant Major. Inbetween will have been, at varying points, drinking, intoxication, blackout, hangover, rinse, repeat. It is not the actions of a living person.
One of the fundamentals of being a human being is to participate in life, have REAL relationships, do things and remember doing it. So this weekend perform a small miracle and come back to life.
A simple "In" is enough and if you are struggling do post here for support but it is als good to read what you are doing and how things are going
Ring! Ring! it is the sound of the freedom bus, please climb aboard

Shotgun!
I'm in!
What an encouraging post to lead us off, Sao.
Thanks!
I'm hoping for the structure of a normal life, interfacing with real people, rather than burrowed away by myself doing my own thing.

The weekends are actually pretty easy for me sobriety wise. I'm a chef so it's balls-to-the-wall for me Thurs, Fri and Sat. That's the part I love! Being busy, rocking out a ton of great food. The time goes by and my days are totally occupied and structured with work.

What a bright moment amidst my day to see your intro, Sao!
I am in. Another challenging weekend for me, but I will figure it out.
Have a nice day, weekenders.
See you later.

Like quitter62 for a lot of us there will be some extended weekends over the next two and a bit weeks but the thread is open 24/7
Meanwhile I had better get back to work.
