Absolutely true Saoutchik! Also half of the pasty would be savoury (beef and veg) and the other half stewed apples. So you'd get a beef and veg meal followed by a little apple pie! The outside of the pasty would have the pastry marked so you knew which end to start with!

On the bus... Feeling hungry for a Cornish pasty!

They do sound kind of interesting from the travel/cooking shows I've seen.

I actually didn't order any pasties because they have onion in them and I can't eat them. But I got shepherds pies, steak and kidney (husband loves them), and steak and mushroom. I like them for an easy dinner in summer with a salad.

I am Cornish ! -and make pretty good Cornish pasty - traditionally Cornish pasties were one half savoury and one half sweet, lunch for the tin miners - the big crust was so that their coal dusty hands did not soil the rest of the pasty - sounds like a great snack for the sober bus - Ober da!

On the Soberbus

Charon very trendy with your light blue cast.

Cornish pasties were very practical foods with meat one side and apple the other. I hear the seagulls are partial to an odd pasty or two. Lol.

Patcha, love the cat and suitcase,

Steak-and-kidney will have beef and a little chopped kidney, in gravy, very tasty

Yep, beef liver, I remember chunks of liver in my moms pie. I'd have to make/find a gluten free pie for the rest of the family or sneak the whole thing for myself.

Another mouse! Mrs Dragon is not taking it so well. Son spent the day thoroughly cleaning out his room. Daughter and I released him up the road yesterday (The mouse, not my son). Such a cute wee little thing. Bought another live trap, praying that the traps remain empty for sanities sake.

On the bus!

Bless you for using live traps, Dragon.

I had a whole mess of pet mice as a kid. Started off as two. . . then 12, then....Well, then I had to tell my grandmother I had mice in a big cardboard box in my closet. Good thing they didn't chew through it. I had sneaked the first two home in a cage.

On the bus.

Now I want Shepherds Pie. Never heard of the pasty.

Que pasa muchachas y muchachos,
On the bus with coffee no breakfast yet. I rented a house in Mass. that got infested with mice they became out of control. They were every where in the walls, closets crapping on the kitchen counter at night, fighting all night. I was forced to go on the war path, no live traps it was a full blown infestation!!!
