I can do this

Okay I'm going to give soberity a go a real go. I've been afraid I'd get sober and it wouldn't get better.
I'm going to do so anyway. I've nothing to lose and everything to gain
I want to thank everyone for the support.
I plan on posting when I want to drink and exercise every day.
I'm going to try saying I can Instead of can't.
David
day two sober right now and going to take it one day at a time. Instead of saying I will never drink I will say not today.

You CAN do it David. It takes some work at the beginning but it gets easier over time. Life will get better.

Have you considered joining the March class? Lots of support from others quitting same month - it's what really worked well for me before.

One day at a time is a great way to start. In any case, keep reading and posting.

Made it through night

Well I wanted badly to drink but was able to wait the cravings out. Then they passed. I feel certain that I don't want to drink anymore. Tonight feels as it was a breakthrough. I'm starting to realize that just because I may be Obsessing on using doesn't mean I actually want to drink.
I played the tape through Tonight instead of listening to my fantasy that voice that's says just one drink and you will feel perfect. Its a lie and I've been buying it. the insanity of the first drink is astounding.
David

David, you are making a wise choice. I am over 3.5 years happily alcohol-free because of this site. My only regret is not doing it sooner.

Yes you can do it David.

The addiction will call and call, doesn't mean you have to answer.

Just block it.

Fantastic job on resisting, David! Getting through that first day is sooo hard. It only gets better if you keep pushing back on the AV.

Great work, I hope you stick with it!
